Rollting has been thinking about the event coming up tonight all day. Even though Moonlight was talking to him continuously throughout the day, he could barely hear a word of what he said. He was distracted. He did not even pay attention to Fiona swimming around him with her beautiful bright orange and yellow colors. Normally, he would chase after her. Not today. Rollting had too much on his mind. He did not even stop by the front of the aquarium to show off his beautiful green and yellow colors to the school kids when they came by today. Normally he would be slowly swimming back and forth and hear the amazement from the children:

-Look at that beautiful fish.

-He is amazing.

-I wish I could touch him.

-I want that fish.

It is true Rollting was unique. The only fish of his kind in the Aquarium. Nobody knew the species he belonged to. Nobody had ever seen his kind before. He was a proud possession of the aquarium. He was featured in the big poster in front of the aquarium and made the news last month. Not like Rollting cared about any of that stuff anyway. His mind was occupied with bigger matters today.

Finally, it was pitch dark. The light and the noise of the morning from people moving around the aquarium now had subsided. Everything seemed to slow down. He had been waiting for this moment. The water was smooth, not even a ripple anywhere. He will need to be careful not to wake up anybody in the aquarium. This is his chance to prove himself. He did not bother to tell anyone about it. They would not believe him anyway. Who he is to talk about fish existing in multiple dimensions and alternate universes? His local friends in Aquarium 7 at the Newport Aquarium in Oregon just look at him as a fellow tropical fish from the area who got stuck into a small piece of water after being injured out in the Ocean. He could not tell them about the sacred waters and the secret fish society of multi-dimensional fish group number 37 that he belonged to. They would simply just not understand the happenings of the Ocean. Most fish here do not remember the ocean and the secret teachings of their ancestors.

Let’s look at Moonlight for example. He is my friend here and I like him a lot. He has no idea that there is another type of life that exists outside of Aquarium 7. He does not even realize what an aquarium is. Once I tried to explain it to him -remembered Rollting. It did not go well. Moonlight got confused and tried to break out of the aquarium. He got hurt by continuously bumping into the glass. The next day I had to tell him that it was not true, This was fish heaven, he calmed down after that and was happy with his everyday life. I would love it if Moonlight could come with me. Yet, it is probably safer for him here. He knows this life; he gets fed and cared for. It would be unfair to him to yank him out of this environment.

Time moved slowly. It seemed to Rollting that each minute had another 100 minutes inside of it. He needed to stay awake and be ready for the transformation. If his calculations were correct tonight would be the night when the big light comes around and will take him away to another dimension where he could swim freely. He waited and waited for a long time. He began dreaming while he was waiting. Finally, he felt the light coming through. It was the most beautiful light he had ever seen. Then, just as soon as the light appeared it faded onto the horizon. Rollting was trying to figure out what had happened when he woke up in his bed.

He opened his eyes and looked out the window. From his house, he could see the entrance to the aquarium. He was excited to see his green and yellow friend again today. He sat up in his bed and remembered the fantastic dream he had the night before when instead of a little boy he was his favorite fish in the aquarium. He named him Rollting as well. They should have the same name.

He jumped out of the bed and dressed quickly. Rollting’s mom was ready for him with breakfast. He ate quickly. Within 15 minutes they were at the aquarium. Rollting run as fast as he could to see his fish friend, the most unique fish in the aquarium. He was there now. Watching for him. He waited and waited. He could not see his favorite fish. He asked his mom to look o Rollting as el. They did not see him. They asked the attendant at the aquarium if something happened to the fish. The attendant had a very sad face and told them that this morning when they opened up and started to look for him, they could not find the fish. Nobody knew what had happened to him.

Far away from the aquarium in the depths of the tropical waters the secret fish society of multi-dimensional fish group number 37 welcomed back their bellowed member Fontord (aka Rollting) who was taken from them about a year ago when he was accidentally caught by a fish net a got injured. Fontord was happy to be back with his fish family. He hoped that his long-term friends would not be missing him too much. He also hoped that his human friend who came to visit him every day received his message that he is free and happy.

Rollting was sad and missed his fish friend. He hoped that one day he would see him again. Until then he will go and see the other amazing tropical fish in aquarium 7. He especially liked two of them. One with beautiful bright orange and yellow colors and the other funny-looking fish (aka Moonlight) that occasionally seemed to try to break through the glass and escape from the aquarium. Rollting had no idea that these two fish were his bellowed fish’s friends.

After a few months, the aquarium decided to free Moonlight and return him to his home and one lucky family could participate in the release process. Rollting bought many tickets and was hoping that he would be able to go and free Moonlight. To his amazement, his family had won the trip to release moonlight back into the wild. He hoped and hoped that while releasing moonlight he might by some miracle see his favorite fish, his namesake Rollting (aka Fontord).

After the long flight from Portland, Oregon to the Caribbean Islands Rollting and his mom were on their way to the beach with the aquarium stuff. They entered a small boat with a special container to take the fish out to the ocean. The moment had come. They released Moonlight.

Moonlight could not believe it. It was truly everything his friend had said about the ocean. It was amazingly huge and had no walls and no people were looking in through the glass. He did not think it was possible yet hoped he might see his friend from the aquarium someday. Now he believed everything his friend told him before.

Just as the boat turned around Rollting kept looking at the water. To his amazement, he saw a beautiful green and yellow fish just like his friend jumping out of the water. Just for a second, he rubbed his eyes, and he was gone. That night Rollting had another dream where his fish friend come to visit him and thanked him for his visit and his home and for bringing his fish friend Moonlight to him.

Rollting was amazed by his dream. He loved to fish and dedicated his life as an adult to research and protection of tropical fish. Rollting moved to the Caribbean as an adult. Occasionally he took his small boat out to the water and when no other people were around, he went for a swim with his friends Fontord and Moonlight.
