In a bustling forest clearing lived a family of Scampering Squirrels. Father Squirrel, known for his bushy tail and boundless energy, spent his days gathering the choicest nuts for the winter. His wife, Hazel, meticulous and wise, ensured their den was stocked and cozy. Their pride and joy was Pip, a curious young squirrel with a perpetually twitching nose.

One crisp autumn day, Pip stumbled upon a sight that made his whiskers twitch with excitement. A human child had dropped a bright red lollipop, forgotten amidst the fallen leaves. Pip had never seen anything like it – it shimmered and smelled vaguely of berries. Ignoring his mother's warnings about human things, Pip snatched the lollipop and raced back to the den.

"Look what I found!" he squeaked, brandishing his prize.

Father Squirrel's eyes widened. "Pip, that's dangerous! We don't eat human food."

But Pip, captivated by the lollipop's allure, wouldn't listen. He took a bite. His face contorted. The lollipop was far too sweet, making his cheeks ache. Disappointed, he tossed it aside.

Later that night, Pip's stomach rumbled with a ferocity he'd never known. His usual stash of acorns held no appeal. All he craved was another taste of the strange candy. The next day, he ventured out again, searching for the human child. He found him, but this time, the child clutched a bag of what looked like colorful pebbles. Pip, desperate, snatched a handful.

The result was disastrous. Pip's belly ballooned, his energy sapped. He could barely make it back to the den. Hazel fussed over him, forcing him to eat bland berries to settle his stomach.

As Pip recovered, weak and chastened, he realized the folly of his actions. The allure of the unknown had blinded him to the wisdom of his family and the value of familiar food.

Moral of the Story: Don't be tempted by the glitter of the unknown. Sometimes, the best things are the ones you already have.

What you already know! So many teenagers might learn from this, but alas, kids must learn the hard way. Wonderful story.
