The North Wind And The Child

The North Wind And The Child

It was dark, and the wind was blowing outside. The child was in the attic bedroom and could hear the roof creaking. It was almost as though it was speaking to her.

The child was not frightened. She often walked in the woods alone and met with strange wanderers who told her fantastic tales.

Then there was a breeze in the room, there she was, the witch of the winds, her long tresses of hair, swirling around her body like a visible north wind.

"Hello Child, I see you are not afraid. I cam e by to tell you never to fear the wind. I am here to carry the birds and spread the seeds of the dandelion clocks, and sometimes the wind may get a bit loud, but that is all. The North Wind will always be your friend"

And with that, the girl lay her head on the pillow and drifted into a sleep, wondering if the visit of the North Wind had been nothing but a dream.
