"The Curse of the Abandoned Asylum"

"A Young Couple's Encounter with the Supernatural"

By PreethiPublished 2 years ago 4 min read

There was a young couple named John and Mary who had always been fascinated by the supernatural. They spent their weekends visiting haunted houses and graveyards, seeking out any kind of thrill they could find.

One night, they decided to take things a step further and visit an abandoned asylum on the outskirts of town. They had heard rumors of strange happenings and eerie noises emanating from the old building, and they were determined to get to the bottom of it.

As they made their way through the dark, crumbling corridors, they couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. The air was thick with the smell of decay and neglect, and the only sound was the creaking of their footsteps on the floorboards.

Suddenly, John stopped in his tracks and pointed to a shadowy figure in the distance. "Do you see that?" he whispered to Mary. "It looks like someone is standing there."

But as they drew closer, the figure seemed to disappear into thin air. They shrugged it off and continued their exploration, thinking it was just their imagination playing tricks on them.

As they reached the center of the asylum, they came across a room filled with old medical equipment and rusting metal beds. Suddenly, they heard a faint moaning sound coming from one of the beds.

Curious, they approached the bed and gasped as they saw a pale, emaciated figure lying there. It was a woman, her eyes sunken and dark, her skin stretched tight over her bones.

John and Mary were frozen with fear, but they couldn't just leave the woman there. They tried to rouse her, but she was completely unresponsive. Just as they were about to call for help, they heard a voice behind them.

"Leave her be," it said. "She's one of us now."

They turned to see a group of ghostly figures standing in the doorway, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly light. John and Mary knew they had to get out of there, fast.

They raced through the asylum, their hearts pounding in their chests. They could hear the ghostly figures pursuing them, their footsteps echoing through the halls.

Just as they thought they had made it to safety, they felt a cold hand grab Mary's arm. She screamed as the ghostly figure dragged her back into the darkness.

John tried to fight, but he was no match for the otherworldly strength of the ghosts. He watched in horror as Mary was pulled further and further away from him, until she vanished into the shadows.

Desperate and alone, John stumbled through the asylum, searching for a way out. He knew he had to save Mary, but he had no idea how.

As he wandered the corridors, he began to hear the ghosts speaking to him, whispering in his ear. They told him of the horrors that had taken place within the walls of the asylum, of the patients who had been experimented on and driven mad.

And then, they offered him a deal. They would release Mary, unharmed, if he agreed to take her place and join them in their eternal torment.

John knew he had no choice. He agreed to the ghosts' terms, and watched as Mary was released from their grasp.

As the couple fled from the asylum, they knew they had narrowly escaped with their lives. But they also knew that John had made a pact with the undead, and that he would be forever haunted by the ghosts of the asylum.

John and Mary tried to put the incident behind them, but they couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. They would catch glimpses of ghostly figures out of the corners of their eyes, and they heard strange noises at night.

John began to have vivid nightmares of being trapped in the asylum, subjected to endless torture and experimentation. He tried to tell Mary about them, but she brushed them off as just bad dreams.

As the weeks went by, John's health began to deteriorate. He lost weight and his skin took on a pale, ghostly pallor. Mary became increasingly worried, but John insisted that he was fine.

One night, John woke up drenched in sweat, his heart racing. He had just had the most vivid nightmare yet - one in which the ghosts of the asylum had come for him, dragging him back to their realm of darkness and despair.

He knew he couldn't take it anymore. He had to tell Mary the truth. He told her about the deal he had made with the ghosts, and how they were now demanding he fulfill his end of the bargain.

Mary was shocked and heartbroken. She couldn't believe that John had kept this from her, and that he had put both of their lives in danger. But she knew they had to find a way to break the pact and save John.

They began to research ways to banish ghosts and make amends for deals with the supernatural. They consulted with paranormal experts and visited spiritual healers, but nothing seemed to work.

Just when they had given up all hope, they stumbled upon an old book in a dusty antique shop. It contained a ritual that was said to banish even the most powerful of ghosts.

They knew they had to try it. They gathered the necessary items and performed the ritual at the asylum, the site of John's original pact with the ghosts.

As they recited the incantation, they felt a powerful presence in the room. The ghosts of the asylum appeared, their eyes glowing with rage. But John and Mary stood their ground, determined to break the pact and set John free.

To their amazement, the ghosts began to dissipate, one by one, until they were all gone. John and Mary were finally free.

They left the asylum behind, vowing never to speak of their encounter again. But they knew that they would always carry the memory of the ghosts and the horrors they had witnessed, and they lived the rest of their lives in fear of the supernatural.
