Another day, another trouble. Cedrick already knew he was going to get verbally abused at school, and god forbid he stand up for himself, he’d just get beaten. The bullies were horrible eldritch terrors, monstrous beasts beyond reproach and repulsively disgusting, nauseating and shamelessly intolerable creatures! Their odious behavior and constant harassment was inexcusable, insurmountable, and unfortunately, inexhaustible, and their torturing of poor Cedrick had been ongoing for four years, since the first grade. The worst part was nobody seemed to care.

Cedrick would tell the teachers, but they’d always say “what proof do you have?” He even recorded one of the bullies taunting him once, and the teachers accused Cedrick of editing the video. He asked the teachers to at least watch him so they could see what was really going on, then they’d believe him. But they’d either say no or ignore him entirely, pretending to be busy.

He got ready for school and into his moms car with a frown.

“Don’t be sad. I’m having a chat with both of your teachers today about the bullies. We’ll get this resolved,” Cedricks mom said.

“Even if they believe me this time, it won’t due any good to try and punish them. Their parents will just threaten to sue the school again. They’ll get away with it, like they always do,” Cedrick said lugubriously.

“Over my dead body they will. If the teachers won’t do anything, I’ll chop the bullies up into tiny little pieces and throw those pieces into a volcano!” Cedricks mom said. This made Cedrick smile.

“Really? You’re the best mom ever!” Cedrick said.

“Hey, if I could, I would,” Cedricks mom said.

“I’m glad the school days are ephemeral. I can’t wait to graduate and move on with my life,” Cedrick said.

“Would you like to be homeschooled?” Cedricks mom asked.

“And sit around all day and do nothing? Talk to no one but you and dad, and listen to you guys as you attempt to teach me? No thanks! Maybe we can just get the bullies in the school suspended or expelled,” Cedrick said.

“Oh come on. We’re not that bad. And I’ll try my best,” Cedricks mom said.

Cedricks mom stopped the car and watched her son as he entered the class. Cedrick left his phone on record so he would at least some proof of the name calling, but the tormentor he sat next to just gave him the finger.

“Go to hell,” Cedrick muttered.

“Cedrick, you get detention. That’s a horrible thing to stay,” Ms. Gangrene said.

“But Ms. Gangrene, John gave me the…” Cedrick started to say.

“I don’t want to hear it,” Ms. Gangrene said.

After school, Cedricks mom walked into his class looking for him.

“Why is my son still here?” Cedricks mom asked.

“Ma’am, he’s in detention?” Ms. Gangrene said.

“Why?” Cedricks mom asked.

“He told someone to go to hell,” Ms. Gangrene said.

“Did he now? I’m sure he must of had a reason? Did the other kid get in trouble for what he did?” Cedricks mother asked.

“I didn’t see or hear what the other kid did. I only heard what Cedrick said,” Ms. Gangrene said.

“And you didn’t think to ask? You’re a moron! And you can go to hell!” Cedricks mom said. Cedrick smiled and was tempted to give his mother a high five!

“Excuse me ma’am? What kind of example are you setting for Cedrick?”

“What kind of example are you setting, you disgusting piece of garbage? You let the other kid get away with whatever he did instead of asking Cedrick why he said what he said, and you give Cedrick detention for defending himself?” Cedricks mother said.

“How do you know he was defending himself?” Ms. Gangrene said.

“How do you know he wasn’t? You didn’t even bother to ask, you festering, steaming pile of cow dung! And people don’t say go to hell for no good reason. Come on, Cedrick, we’re leaving,” Cedricks mom said.

Cedricks mom went to the principle and reported what happened.

“Can we at least get Cedrick transferred to another class if you’re not going to fire or even talk to her? Ms. Gangrene might be spiteful at this point,” Cedricks mom asked.

The principle nodded.

On the way home, Cedrick asked if he could learn to skateboard.

“Sure, honey,” Cedricks mom said.

Cedrick spent the next several months learning and practicing skateboarding. He won a local skateboarding competition, and channel four news reporter Evelyn Munson wanted to interview Cedrick.

Cedrick and his mom arranged for the interview to take place at Cedricks school, in front of his old class.

Cedrick sat down with the reporter, and as each one of his bullies passed by and overheard the interview, their jaws dropped and they became extremley jealous. Most of his bullies couldn’t even get out of bed to return to school the next day, because they were at home suffering from depression because they couldn’t be friends with the coolest skateboarder in the entire city. And the ones that did come to school groveled at Cedricks feet for forgiveness. They watched how cool he was, flying through the air on his brand new skateboard.

Cedrick smiled, for he was now the king and the school was his palace.
