As soon as Mike walked into his apartment, he knew something was off. The air felt thick, and a musty smell permeated the air. He had been gone for the weekend, and his partner, Rachel, had promised she would clean up the place. But looking around, it seemed like she had done the exact opposite.

It wasn't until he walked into the bedroom that the true horror hit him. Rachel was lying on the bed with her laptop glued to the screen. But it wasn't the sight of her that made Mike gasp in shock - it was what she was watching. On the screen was the show Mike had been waiting to watch all weekend - Game of Thrones.

Mike had always been a massive fan of the show, and he and Rachel had agreed to watch it together. But it seemed like Rachel couldn't wait. And she was watching it without him.

Mike's mind raced as he tried to come up with a plan. Should he confront Rachel and demand answers? Should he storm out of the apartment and never look back? Or should he accept that sometimes in life, bad things happen to good people?

As he stood there, lost in thought, Rachel finally looked up from her laptop. "Hey," she said, a slightly guilty look on her face. "I was going to wait for you, but I just couldn't resist."

Mike was torn. On the one hand, he was grateful that Rachel had been honest with him. On the other hand, he couldn't believe she would betray him like this. He decided to let her have it.

"You watched Game of Thrones without me?" he exclaimed. "After everything, we've been through. How could you do this to me?"

Rachel tried to calm him down. "It's just a show, Mike. It's not that big of a deal."

But to Mike, it was a huge deal. Game of Thrones wasn't just a show but a way of life. It was a chance for him to escape into a world of dragons, knights, and bearded men with axes. And Rachel had taken that away from him.

Mike couldn't stay in the apartment any longer. He stormed out the door and into the night, his mind racing with anger and betrayal. He didn't know where he was going but knew he couldn't return to Rachel.

The next few days were a blur of misery for Mike. He couldn't eat, he couldn't sleep, and he couldn't stop thinking about what Rachel had done. He was hurt, angry, and alone. But then something strange happened.

As he lay in bed one night, unable to sleep, he suddenly realized that he had missed Rachel. He missed her laugh, smile, and terrible taste in TV shows. He realized that he didn't want to live a life without her.

Mike returned to the apartment the following day, wondering what he would say to Rachel. But when he walked through the door, he saw that Rachel had gone to make it up to him. The apartment was spotless, and a fresh pizza was waiting on the table.

Rachel looked up at him, her eyes full of hope. "I'm sorry, Mike," she said. "I know I shouldn't have watched the show without you. But I promise it won't happen again."

Mike smiled and pulled her into a hug. "It's okay, Rachel. I forgive you. We all make mistakes sometimes."

And with that, the two of them sat down to watch Game of Thrones together, Mike realizing that sometimes, the awful things in life can bring us closer to the people we love.
