She knows!

Mom knows how much I love the bacon, yet ever so often she fries some up and I barely get a smidgen of what she served herself.

Oh! I see one piece dangling in sweet savory glory off that plate. She’s watching me and I am giving 100% begging eyes.

Nothing.

I head back to my bed. Yes. I am going to lie here and pretend I don’t want it.

Nothing.

Maybe I can pick on the cat to distract her. No. That always ends in time out.

I hopelessly plop my head back down.

Ding Dong!

The doorbell! My ears perk, who could it be?

But wait.

Bacon!

Unattended bacon 12 o’ clock but I run to the door to make sure mom is safe. It’s Trudy from across the street. I like Trudy so I jump and bark to say hi but mom shoos me away and steps outside.

Rude.

But wait!

This must be a sign! Oh please be a sign.

I stalk over to the unattended plate and the rest is history.

So here I am in time out; but it sure was worth the taste of bacon.
