Odin’s Child: A Review
I have always enjoyed fantasy stories, especially those that are grounded in real world mythology. I especially have a special affinity to the Norse pantheon, with their dark symbology and mystical connection to their gods. So, finding a book like Odin’s Child, which takes a rich cultural mythos and weaves a dynamic and compelling world of characters, is a glittering gem of a treasure.

Bull Fights and Dad Dates
This would have been the day that Liz McIntosh, the cute sorority hopeful from my Freshman Seminar class, had been willing to have lunch with me. Cloud of Pink
Her neck was stretched back and to the point of exhaustion. She was beginning to feel the way people do when they sleep a little too long in a car while trying to replicate the effects of a pillow with a lousy seatbelt. But she paid no mind to the discomfort. Her eyes were set. Fixed. Centered almost on the motions of the blossoms. The way the wind carried them from side to side. Falling like thin pieces of paper. She had missed it, the day of full bloom. But to her the best part wasn’t seeing them bloom, is was watching them dance their way down to the earth.

Meant To Be - Part I
Celia Thomas - Present May 1st, 1986, Thursday Erika and I crammed into the lift, between men in iron-pressed suits, who smelt of coffee. I fiddled with the hem of my pinstriped skirt that matched my oversized blazer. Erika had on a similar combo, but hers was navy. The mandatory skirt or dress rule never seemed to bother her. She liked the way they made her legs look longer.
