William's Things
Opal slept on her belly like a dog all summer. It was too hot to open the drapes or the shutters, so she contented herself with lying in the cool darkness beneath her bed, or in the bare porcelain bottom of the bathtub with a book fanned open in her lap and her feet kicked up over the side. There was a little square window at the foot of the tub whose glass was all wavy; when Opal looked through it, she felt as though she were seeing a distorted reflection in a ripply pond. She liked to imagine that the weird, wobbly world behind the glass wasn’t an illusion at all, and that if she were to open the little window and crawl through, that the trees and houses and street lamps would all remain bent at strange, impossible angles, and that she would become a part of this interesting world too. Alas, the window looked as though it had never been opened, and Opal went back to her book.

Cindy of Ravenswood. Content Warning.
There is a difference from right and from wrong, here, my thoughts do not align. I was always under the impression that they were good guys in the world and bad. Now I am not too sure. Let me first introduce myself to you, my name is Cindy Poppins, I am a caretaker for the elderly here in Ravenswood, it does not matter what their fault is or was while they were alive, rather younger, now that they are old and feeble mind and body. It is my task to take care of them in their final days. This is where I say the lines blurred between what is good and what is bad. To give further note in this I will try my best to recall the conversation from one who has passed, as well as one whom is waiting to pass.

Typewriter and the Author
Shafts of light streamed in through the wide window, warming the mahogany-stained desk and casting a spotlight on the ancient typewriter. Its black and red ribbons are brittle and crumbling, its alphanumeric keys eroded beneath decades of keystrokes. A yellowing sheet of paper remains wound around its return bar. What is written on the page has long since passed from the typewriter’s recollection. He had memorized it once, but now all he could recall were the final keystrokes as several remained jammed. The author had neglected to repair him, so here he lay, gathering rust and dust.

Magic Bookstore
The day started like any other Saturday morning, with rain casting the town in a dark gray haze. The rain was steady but light as I made my way down the sparse streets of the town. I hummed a random tune as I twirled the umbrella, hopping from puddle to puddle, splashing rainwater on my pants. Saturday mornings always put me in a good mood. It is the one day a week I can visit my favorite place in the world, an old bookstore. The old brick building shows its age compared to the modern shops surrounding it.
