AntiGravity
"This is Commander Xenon of..." Suddenly there was a burst of noise over our speakers. I froze. We all stared at the walls, startled, as more strange noises emanated from our speakers and the foreign ship drew ever closer. As minutes went by, it seemed that the noises slowly became more intelligible.

He Stood Alone
He stood in the field and as the night became day, he started to understand the truth of his heritage and promise he would never deny his family again. John had been ashamed to be an alien among humans. His family was from the planet Saturn. Due to the human arrogance, he felt so very different and not worthy to be in their presence when he was a child. His physical appearance was the subject of daily mocking and disdain by his human classmates. His long arms (twice as long as human arms), short legs and globe shaped head made him stand out everywhere he went. Oh yes, he was also sky blue in color. Why, oh why great universe am I this wretched looking being he would say to himself as a child. Why can’t I be human, as a child he longed to be human. Why did my people all have to die in the great war and leave me alone in this vast universe? He would ask himself this several times a day before he grew more knowledgeable and learned about his species greatness. Saturnians were a great people of intelligence and nobility.

The Planet Epenthet
by: Dennis R. Humphreys Twenty-four days after their stop over at the planet Risus for supplies they ran into trouble. The two astronauts where on an exploratory mission for their mining company in this quadrant of the galaxy. They were looking for precious metals and a mineral called diopolite, which was rare but non-expendable energy source various worlds were using. They tested planets, planetoids, moons and asteroids in their efforts. They'd do chromograph testing first. If it looked good, they would send robots to the surface to do the drilling ansd tests.

Scion
38 carefully wrapped the two shorn branches together with a clear sheet, her fingers deftly weaving around them with practiced precision. The trick was to bind them tight enough that the two stalks wouldn’t become dislodged, even if the ship’s artificial gravity had one of its occasional hiccups. She took a step back to admire her work. The roots of certain plants handled the rigors of interstellar travel better than others, and 38 had found that by grafting two different species together she could ensure the survival of some of the more fragile specimens in her care.

The worlds of the K819 Star System.
This is a story about the planets of an imagined star system, supposedly a few dozen light years from Earth. I am an artist and work in a variety of media and this include digital artwork. I have been experimenting with a piece of computer software called Terragen which can be used to create realistic landscape scenes. The application uses procedural mathematics - such as Perlin fractals - rather than manual sculpting. The advantage of this method is that landscape features of all scales can be rendered, from pebbles and vegetation, to entire planets. Using this software, I have created images of a series of planets with varying and interesting environmental conditions depending on their distance from the imagined star K819.

Clear sky blue
In I told takanami will follow him to the decision of the institute of lightning, "he said," before you make a final decision, I should clarify something: I know you're thinking right now is ball lightning, although our starting point is different, I am also bullish on this project, but you want to know, at first, I can't get in with a lot of power to get you on the project. Do you know why Chang Bin failed? He's stuck in theory! But I can't blame him. It's just a matter of circumstances. This two years my impression to you is to ignore the experiment, wrong, you do doctoral program I didn't consider experiment, because the investment of this experiment is too high, according to our existing conditions, fundamental do bad, not accurate and even not true pull theory, the result of the remarks made me rediscover the takanami this man, so active like him on the academic thought, It is rare to be so realistic in society, which is probably the characteristic of people coming out of MIT. In fact, I think as he does, I understand that building basic experimental facilities is essential to ball lightning research, because the mark of success in ball lightning research is to create it artificially. These facilities should include, first of all, large lightning simulators, as well as sophisticated magnetic field generators and more sophisticated sensor detection systems, which are bound to have a mind-boggling budget. I'm not a nerd. I know that in order to achieve my dreams, I have to start from reality.
