The Cutie with the Cardigan
Christmas Eve It all started coming together around midnight. Quite a few keys were missing on my battered keyboard, but even so, my fingertips flew over the keys. The clacking was one of the few sources of noise that filled my 2-bedroom flat. Believe it or not, the key clicks, along with the unhealthy humming of my dying laptop, created my go-to writing environment. Between the pauses in my typing, I mumbled along to the soulful acoustic through my half-broken earphones.

Echoes of Forever
In the quaint town of Willow Creek, nestled in the rolling hills of the countryside, a chance encounter between two strangers would set off a chain of events that would change their lives forever. It was a crisp autumn evening, and the streets were bathed in the warm, golden light of the setting sun. Emma, a free-spirited artist, had just closed up her studio and was strolling through the town, lost in thought. Her long, curly brown hair danced in the gentle breeze as she walked. Suddenly, she collided with a tall, handsome stranger, spilling her sketchbook and pencils all over the sidewalk. Apologetic, the stranger rushed to help her gather her belongings. As they stood up, their eyes met, and Emma felt an inexplicable jolt of electricity run through her entire body. The stranger's piercing blue eyes seemed to see right through her, and yet, she felt an overwhelming sense of comfort and familiarity. "I'm so sorry," the stranger said, his deep voice sending shivers down Emma's spine. "I'm Max." Emma smiled, feeling a little shy. "I'm Emma. Nice to meet you, Max." As they parted ways, Emma couldn't shake off the feeling that she had just met someone special. Little did she know that Max was about to turn her world upside down. Over the next few weeks, Emma and Max kept running into each other around town. They would exchange pleasantries, and Emma would catch herself looking forward to these chance encounters. One evening, as they strolled along the creek, Max turned to Emma and asked, "Would you like to grab dinner with me sometime this week?" Emma's heart skipped a beat. "I'd love to," she replied, trying to sound casual. Their first date was a magical night filled with laughter, conversation, and a deepening connection. As the days turned into weeks, Emma and Max found themselves inseparable. They would take long walks, explore the countryside, and sit by the creek, watching the stars twinkle to life. Emma had never felt this way about anyone before. She was falling deeply in love with Max. But fate had other plans. Max, it turned out, was only in Willow Creek temporarily, working on a project that would take him away from the town – and Emma – in just a few short months. Emma was devastated. She had never felt such a strong connection with anyone before, and the thought of losing Max was unbearable. As the days turned into weeks, Emma and Max made the most of their time together. They cherished every moment, knowing that their time was limited. On the night before Max was set to leave, they sat by the creek, watching the stars. Emma turned to Max, tears streaming down her face. "I don't want to lose you," she whispered. Max took her hand, his eyes filled with emotion. "You'll never lose me, Emma. I'll always be with you, no matter where I am." As they shared a bittersweet kiss, Emma knew that their love would transcend time and fate. Max would carry her heart with him, and she would hold onto the memories of their time together. The next morning, Max left Willow Creek, but Emma knew that their love story was far from over. She held onto the echoes of their time together, knowing that their love would forever be etched in her heart. As the seasons passed, Emma and Max kept in touch, their love growing stronger with each passing day. They would meet whenever Max was in town, and their love would rekindle, burning brighter than ever. Years went by, and Emma's art studio flourished. She would often think of Max, wondering where he was and what he was doing. But she knew that their love was eternal, a flame that would burn bright forever. One day, as Emma was working on a new painting, she heard a knock on the door. She turned to see Max standing in the doorway, a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. "I'm back," he said, his voice filled with emotion. Emma's heart skipped a beat as she dropped her brush and ran into Max's arms. They held each other tightly, the echoes of their love story reverberating through the years. As they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, Emma knew that their love had transcended time and fate. They had found their way back to each other, and nothing would ever tear them apart again. "Echoes of Forever" was more than just a love story – it was a testament to the power of true love, a love that would echo through eternity.

Words, Just Words
There’s something provocatively intimate about exposing your hopes, thoughts, and darkest confessions. Spelled out in seemingly harmless black and white, words become more than just letters arranged in a systematic phonetic order. There, in cohesive and unifying fragments, words are given the voice that speaks their truth into existence. Those words then have the power to encourage, to heal, to entertain, to educate, to control, to hurt. Words, innocent as they may appear, are quite the contrary. I should know. I’m a survivor of words.

A Decade Spent in Silence . Content Warning.
Another mile passes, and with every word not said, the distance between us grows farther and farther. The steady hum of the motor drowns out the silence as we travel down familiar roads - same twists and turns, same potholes, same signs. The peace I used to find in repeating the same trip over and over again and in knowing all the warning signs and hazards ahead now seems like the world is closing in on me. This is an endless journey to nowhere. There will be no marvelous sights to see, no unexpected grand adventure, no momentous landmarks along the way. Instead, worn out wheels roll comfortably forward in the same direction as before. My eyes numbly follow the mile markers, and I catch a glimpse of my discarded heart, littered on the side of the road.
