Harold is a stickler for routine and begins every day the exact same way; sunrise toad-chi in the park followed by an intense game of leap with his personal trainer. After a hot shower, he reads the Amphibian Times at his kitchen table over a swamp latte and bowl of Locusts & Oats. Then he dresses in his crisp, freshly ironed collared shirt, neatly tucked under his favorite sweater vest, and walks down his circular staircase through the french doors to his home office. Sitting at his desk, he checks his schedule for the day.

“Hi! Oof - welcome! I’m Susan.” the harassed looking shelter volunteer greets me, the swing door she has just burst through clipping her hip as she pauses to greet me. “Sorry, bit short staffed today so I don’t have time to take you round. Follow me and I’ll show you the dog pens. Take a look around and I will catch up with you.” Without waiting for a response, she taps a number into the lock key pad beside the door and scurries through.

The Cottonwoods The evil little girl helped the camp gather fallen branches for the fire. She was excited to see them all burn in the conflagration planned by those running the retreat. In her arms were a half dozen or so sticks. She tromped through the forest wearing war paint on her little cheeks and spoke loudly for all creatures in the woods to hear that she was there and she was the apex predator. She had two missing teeth equidistant from her front teeth which made her canines look even more ferocious. After a few trips she amassed her very own pile of broken branches next to her seat as the other camp attendants sparked flame to the chopped logs prepared in the ring.
