Hope. Top Story - January 2023.
When she had arrived, it had been the middle of summer. Hope, the place was called, though it had seemed to her a desolate place, despite the better expectations she had had of it on her long journey here from Boston. Early June, and already the streets of the town had been continually shifting fields of dust, and the bed of the river that skirted its edge but a deserted, impassable stretch of cracked boulders and stones, a damp, dark ditch crawling down its middle. What the people here called the lagoon, below the body of the town, was just a shallow, reed-filled marsh, no more than a breeding ground for frogs and flies and mosquitoes.

But we were somehow a threat to Nazi Germany, even though we were just trying to get by and live our lives. Did you know that civilians made up almost three times the number of casualties compared to soldiers for the allied forces? They don’t talk about that enough in schools nowadays.

Feminism in the 21st Century
"Write, let no one hold you back, let nothing stop you: not man; not the imbecilic capitalist machinery, in which the publishing houses are the crafty, obsequious relayers of imperatives handed down by an economy that works against us and off our backs; not yourself. Smug-faced readers, managing editors, and big bosses don't like the true texts of women- female-sexed texts. That kind scares them". (Helene Cixous 1975).
