Phoenix (العنقاء)
In a land lost to time, in the glow of a dying sunset, a mystical creature known as the Phoenix took to the skies, its vibrant wings blazing against the fading light. The Phoenix, with feathers of fire and eyes as old as the stars, was not just any bird. It was a symbol of hope, a creature of ancient wisdom that lived in cycles, rising anew from the ashes of its own flame.

The Vanishing Queen and the River That Flowed Backward
The river flowed backward on the day Queen Atani vanished, marking the beginning of a three-stage royal death ritual in the Queendom of Lubel. As the waters defied gravity, the people of Lubel sensed that their queen had passed, though her body had simply faded before her three sons, the Queensguard, and her closest attendants. Queen Atani’s disappearance was expected only by a few, including her aging chambermaid, who had witnessed this phenomenon before.

Palanquin. Content Warning.
The river ran backwards on the day the Queen vanished. But not just that. It turned blood red. The crimson river emboldened dozens of youngsters, most of them men and women just eighteen and nineteen-years-old, to avenge the disappearance of their fair woman of the Riverson throne. They were the Thoroughbreds. The irony was that they possessed no horses in their camp. The name had referred to their completeness and sound abilities to take on any foe and aid whatever friend. To lead all of this brigade, to fight for her return, Azure began with a strategy. He was twenty-six and his skin looked like cinnamon. His hair had been stylized into a Caesar cut. Though youthful, he led the band of young men in their journey to rediscover the lady that blessed their lives.

An Important Newsflash!!
We interrupt "Little Red Leaf" to bring you an exclusive update: Today, Rachel Deeming, author ordinaire, (the extra having melted away many months ago) celebrated with a large yawn. The cause of such heightened and reckless behaviour? Her writing a microfiction every day for the last 300 days: a Spartan amongst writers.

The Golden River of Time
The river ran backwards on the day the Queen vanished. I jerked awake and heard myself say out loud: ‘But am I dead?’ even as I shuffled my feet beneath the quilt to keep it from the spreading waters rippling from the spot I last saw her on the dawn-touched River. Thought I saw her. Would have taken an oath that she had been there before me on the banks of the Golden River of Time, pleading for rescue.

The Queen's Last Stand
The river ran backwards on the day the Queen vanished. Its waters, usually flowing peacefully toward the sea, twisted and turned, surging back to their source as if in defiance of nature itself. In the village of Eldenbrook, the villagers gathered along the banks, eyes wide with fear and confusion, sensing that something far beyond the ordinary had taken place.
