A Pair of Dimes
A pair of dimes, the coins were sitting side by side on a park bench one day. One dime looked at the other and said, “look at that flower over yonder.” The flower then got up, shook her petals a bit, and grew legs. Then she placed one foot in front of the other and went for a walk, as if impassioned to do so.

The Siren's Song
“Cast ‘er overboard!” “The Sea Goddess is enraged, get ‘er off the ship!” The voices echoed in her head, over and over again as she sank, deeper and deeper. The weight of the water crushing her, her chained feet pulling her faster and faster. Below the water, the sea seemed calmer-- while a raging storm took hold above, below almost seemed peaceful.

Manifestation Diaries : The Beginning
When I was a child of about 8, I began experiencing the ability of manifestation. At the time I did not even know what it was called let alone how powerful it would become. I would be used as a party trick by my older sister when it suited her and her friend's needs. If I was unable to satiate them, I was shunned from our shared bedroom. She treated me like crap and still does, yet I remember this one moment in adolescence when I was at camp during the summer and it was our last night. There was to be a customary dance party and we would have it outside in the courtyard on the camp grounds. While waiting outside to get in the walls, I kid you not I saw my first and only (so far) shooting star. They say make a wish, so I did. I wished to be like my big sister, beautiful and popular, and to have the world and everyone in it love me. What was I thinking?

Monday Morning Monotony
By nature, I was not a violent person. I believed in the value of kindness. Heck, I even left the office and hauled myself to yoga classes four or five times a week to get my zen on and burn off the extra calories I consumed due to my fancy coffee addiction.

Winter's Debt
The winter months were always the hardest. Nothing would grow when snow blanketed their world. If the summer had been kind they would have enough to eat. If it had been too dry or too wet then once winter settled in, they would be in for a rough time. When James was just a boy, they had suffered one such year. The drought that summer had left them without adequate food stores. They had survived, but it had not been easy. They had been forced to eat one of their horses towards the end and by the time the spring thaws came they were subsisting on one meal a day. Those meals were a meager affair of the withered vegetables that had remained in the root cellar boiled into a weak soup. If the winter had dragged out much longer, they would have been going without food altogether.

Hot Chocolate
Barbie Jean was of a habit of asking her Mama all sorts of questions about her Daddy, every time it was near his birthday, and this time her question brought to mind a special memory. "What made you fall in love with him?," asked Barbie Jean to her Mother. Her Mother could see in her daughter's wide dark chocolate eyes that she just especially needed to know, and wanted to know with all her heart. It was just a day or so past his birthday, and they both were seated by the large kitchen window drinking hot chocolate. "I am not so certain it was any one thing," Barbie Jean's Mother began, "but it had a lot to do with how he treats me, how we get along, our trust in one another, our shared goals, and our similar interests. I will tell you a story about it." Barbie Jean smiled with a grin, that was looking just like her Father's, as her Mother began the story...
