Valley of Dragons
There weren’t always dragons in the valley. Only Eve’s grandfather could remember a time before the mages climbed the black mountain and carved the Gate out of the stone at the peak. She’d grown up with his stories about how the sky glowed purple the night they opened the portal, and how the windows and doors in his house rattled with each thunderous roar. The beasts had spilled forth into the valley and settled in, driving the villagers out into the mountains. The mages hadn’t been seen since.

Quest to The Throne
There weren’t always dragons in the valley. But as conflicts continued to arise between neighboring villages, a means of protection became a necessity. Strength in numbers became a myth and the only way to ensure an equal fight was by relying on a creature far more powerful than any other beast around. Every village was gifted a dragon by the king of the land, King Tovar of Garland, as a way to bring an end to the fighting amongst people and instead let problems be resolved by the creatures of the villages.

The Overture
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. When the sun first rose there were only humans, wolves, and fish. As the land and seas flourished so did these three. So much so that demons became curious and crawled through stone and flowers to see for themselves. They became the Orcs and Goblins. They brought with them the power of transformation and bestowed it upon the wolves and fish. Who in turn became Werewolves and Merfolk.

Astallis
“There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. But, of course, there weren’t always the rifts in the sky.” Matron Doragiltre carefully pried the massive black leather tome in her lap open to the first page, caressing the paper gently with her silvery scaled claws. “This was before the world itself was ignited by the power of sorcery. It was much a different time back then…”

In the Shadow of the Oak
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. Once, there had been the quiet, pulsing energy of plentiful grass and warm summer evenings. But now, the dragons had come. And that pulse had stuttered into nothing. An inescapable stillness.

Daughters of Kestar
Prologue She felt them before she saw them. Raewyn raised her eyes and trembled as a group of black, celestial shadows passed high overhead, staining the sky with black fire. Explosions thudded in the distance, sending tremors for miles in every direction.
