The Pirate's Redemption
Grimscowl was a pirate captain of the most infamous ship to ever sail the seas. He was a terror to all who crossed his path, known for his brutality, ruthlessness, and unyielding thirst for power. He had no mercy for anyone, no matter their age, gender, or flag. He had a heart as black as coal, and an empty soul and his crew feared him more than they did the very sea they sailed on.

Shadows of the Lithilium
I wake early the next morning, My whole body feeling more energized than it has for days. I roll over and push myself up to my feet. The sun is just barely coming up over the horizon and most of the landscape is still bathed in grey predawn light. I look down at Frengton and am surprised by the lack of light coming from the town. Most cities like this kept watch fires burning through the night so that the guards keeping watch could see what is going on, at least that had been my experience in the past.

Revealed
I say goodnight to my roommate, already snuggled in her bed. As her consciousness rests, another alights the night sky. An enormous iridescent dragon emerges—is this real?? She’s pulling something behind her – it’s the Veil! Thousands of creatures are revealed; they have always been there. What majesty! The room fills with others who can see her. Someone hands me a camera. I must go and tell everyone, but it seems not all can see; they are not ready. They just go about, unaware of the magic right in front of their eyes. If only we could all see.

The Enchanted Inkwell: Tales of Fishblood and Wonder
"Era 1: The Present" Blood splattered all across my face. The body wriggled in front of me but I couldn't muster up the strength to hold it in place. It sounded terrified like me, but I wasn't terrified in a scary sense. I was terrified at its burlish courage to shake out of my hands. I tried to strangle it to death but it wouldn't let me do that easily.
