Fate/Choice. Top Story - February 2025.
Swarmed by the crazed horde, Murphy and I were both taken prisoner before we had the chance to blink. I tried to fight, but my arms were being held down with so much force I feared they would break if I strained them. It was useless. They were too strong, too mean, and too many.

A secret buried in time
The old manor stood at the edge of Blackwood Forest, shrouded in mist and mystery. Ivy crept up its stone walls, and the towering oak trees surrounding it seemed to whisper secrets of the past. Few dared to go near it, for it was said that the house carried a secret so grave that time itself had chosen to forget it.

When dreams and reality collide
Dreams are the ethereal landscapes of our desires, painted with the hues of hope and imagination. Reality, on the other hand, is the hard pavement upon which we tread, often strewn with obstacles that test our resolve. But what happens when these two worlds, so seemingly distant, collide? When the aspirations that fuel our hearts meet the stark truths of existence, the impact can be transformative, painful, or even magical.

Life & Love
I saw your face today as I was running down the street trying to catch up with a friend who was ahead of me. It took me by surprise because I hadn't thought of you in a while. Life is like that sometimes. Someone who meant the world to you at one time, who you thought you could never live without, suddenly isn't in the forefront of your mind. I used to scan all the faces around me, hoping to see you in someone's face and never seeing you. But today, today was different. There you were. It was just a heartbeat, just a fraction of a moment that I thought I saw you in a young man's face. He had the same coal black wavy hair and the blue-green eyes that you used to have. Ahhh, the way you used to look at me. As if I was the only person in the world. You would smile, as we danced in the rain.Your laughter echoing all around us.

Minding Mortals
When it rained, Uri hid himself among the Lost. He was formed of rain itself, yet this could not be presumed by his appearance. Even if humans were made privy to the existence of Immortals, they were a small-minded race, and many things were inscrutable. One ought not expect a human to comprehend the intricacies of things not of their kind, especially those that were greater and elder than themselves. Humans were an impetuous race, of course. Because Uri had existed for many centuries and travelled to many places, he spoke every tongue known to man. Cerulea was omnipresent; Vatia lived in a castle made of clouds, towering above the rest. At times, her booming voice erupted from the skies with a message for the Oris. The orders of a Queen must always be obeyed, lest a Child be banished.

A Valentine’s Day to Remember
The streets of New York were adorned with red and pink decorations, and the scent of fresh roses filled the air. Cafés buzzed with couples sharing soft laughter over candlelit dinners, and flower vendors were busy wrapping delicate bouquets for last-minute lovers. Among the crowd, Emma walked briskly, clutching a small wrapped gift in her hands. Her heart pounded as she rehearsed the words she wanted to say.

Echoes of the Past
Echoes of the Past The wind howled through the ancient forest, carrying with it the whispers of a thousand forgotten tales. The trees, gnarled and twisted with age, stood as silent sentinels, their branches reaching out like skeletal fingers toward the heavens. Beneath their canopy, the air was thick with the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves, a reminder of the cycle of life and death that had played out here for centuries.

The Doppelgänger Effect
The Doppelgänger Effect In the quiet, mist-shrouded town of Eldermere, nestled between ancient forests and a whispering river, there was a legend that no one spoke of but everyone feared. It was the tale of the Doppelgänger Effect—a phenomenon said to occur once every century, when the veil between worlds grew thin, and shadows took on a life of their own. It was said that during this time, a person might encounter their exact double, a mirror image of themselves, but with a sinister twist. To meet one’s doppelgänger was an omen of impending doom, a harbinger of chaos that would unravel the fabric of one’s life.
