"Something is inside my house"

On March 12th, 2005, a PSA was released onto the world through VHS, DVD, and TV. Why there was a VHS copy was unknown but some suspect that the original was created in the 1990s, some also say that this PSA relates to the modern-day which is why it was released when it was. Here is the transcript of said PSA.

The audio crackled and popped due to the age of the PSA, as well as frequent static filling the screen periodically. (Due to the VHS copy being used; DVD's and other various ways to indulge in this video were nigh impossible to find) The PSA starts with a quaint jingle that you'd typically hear from something like this, followed by text reading, "Visage County Texas: A Guide." The tape quickly cuts to a warning, the music cutting off with it, stating "This is explicitly for police use, do not tell your family, do not spread the tape, do not let this go public. If you do any of these things, you will be reprimanded and removed from your position immediately." The video stuttered some once it cut again before massive white text is plastered onto the screen, "TYPES OF EMERGENCIES." They listed occupations associated with 911 calls starting with "Police," then moving on to, "Firefighters," and then, "Ambulances," the third thing being listed being multiple varieties of the three before moving onto a section called, "Special Emergencies." A video, almost completely irrelevant to the whole previous half of the video began playing. This part of the tape had a speaker, here is what they said, text in the video, as well as images, correlate with the speech, FYI.

"We have all become aware of an unknown threat appearing throughout our quaint county of Visage. We do not know the cause of said threat's appearance but we do know ways to circumvent said threat, though it is advised for those who have seen, or know the threat is nearby or have seen said threat from a distance -- to not interact with it. Grab a weapon and hide, do not talk to the threat, do not interact with the threat, do not touch the threat. If it is in your immediate line of sight, fire at the threat. If it is barely visible, and you do not have a clear shot of the threat, run. Do not leave your house if you have an encounter with the threat directly, the best course of action there... would be to kill yourself."

The speaker paused for a few moments, showing more images (Arrows pointing at a human silhouette drawing identifying it as a threat, and multiple other versions of it having longer more distorted features) associated with some of the things stated prior before continuing. "This threat tends to look similar to us, so I will go on to describe ways to identify the said threat," The speaker paused once more before an array of images showing distorted human silhouettes as previously mentioned are shown once more, "If you see someone with biologically impossible characteristics, run and hide. If you see someone acting more unusual compared to the normal human, be it odd twitching, inhuman attitudes which lack emotions, stillness, rubbery skin, these might be threats and you are to report to the authorities immediately, including the threats mentioned before. Always, and I mean always, report to the authorities during these instances."

With a music change and a cut, text saying, "Types" appears on the screen. The first type established is the "Mimic." Showing an image of a man giving an eerie smile to a polaroid camera. A description appears under it, "Appearing to be human, look human, act human, and might look like friends or family, can maybe even blend in with a group of people, they are the hardest to identify. They use psychological warfare and tactics to get what they want from someone, evidence shown here:" An audio recording plays, one of a 911 call.

Dispatcher: "Hello, 911, what's your emergency?"

Caller: "Hello, there's someone outside of my house right now, they've been standing there for a few hours now so..."

Dispatcher: "Okay, what is your address?"

Caller: "55 Alibay Road."

Dispatcher: "We're sending someone now, stay on the phone with me and..." The dispatcher paused for a few seconds, "Could you describe whoever is outside for me?"

Caller: "Uh... alright." The Caller sounded as if they were moving, "Okay, so. It's this guy, he's standing under a street lamp just looking at me."

Dispatcher: "He can see you right now?"

Caller: "Yeah, he... he's wearing a black leather jacket, they have short brown hair... I think they have another jacket underneath the leather one -- and jeans."

Dispatcher: "How long did you say they were out there?"

Caller: "About an hour."

Dispatcher: "Do you know what time they started standing right outside of your house?"

Caller: They sighed, "I think... 5:50 pm."

Dispatcher: "Has anything changed since you first say this man?"

Caller: "I think... they're moving right now." The Caller paused, "Well, he moved a few inches but now he's just kinda... it's like he's circling the front yard?"

A few minutes had passed and this man described by the Caller has moved to the door and had begun attempting to break open the door. The Caller noted how whoever was outside looked like a walking corpse, how their body moved oddly, rough, rigged, barely even to keep a stable balance as they maneuvered their way over to the Caller's door. At this point, the Dispatcher had identified it as a threat and had instructed the Caller to grab a weapon and hide. The Dispatcher demanded the Caller to not speak to the threat.

Caller: "I just heard a loud cracking!"

Dispatcher: "Don't speak loudly, try to whisper."

Caller: Unidentifiable background noise could be heard from the Caller's cell, a horrid cracking sound followed. "FUCK!" They screamed.

Dispatcher: "Hello!? Do not communicate with it, just run away, hello!?"

Caller: "Who the fuck are you!? I'm not- Oh shi-" The Caller seemed to be running away, "FUCK!"

Dispatcher: "Hello!?"

Caller: "What the fuck was that!?"

Dispatcher: "What happened?"

Caller: "It fuckin' lunged at me -- I bashed it over the fuckin' head and its head just dented like it was a doll, what the hell..."

Dispatcher: "Did it touch you?"

Caller: "I don't think so... It just broke open the closet door and... I don't know. Everything happened too quickly so I have no idea." A voice could be heard in the background, barely audible. "FUCK OFF!"

Dispatcher: "Do not communicate with it! Try to just find another hiding place and especially don't let it touch you, police are on the way!"

Caller: "I'll fuckin' kill your ass!" Whatever it was, it was talking to the Caller, their voice coming to a whisper, "It's... down my staircase, just staring up at me. It's trying to..." The Caller grunted, "What the fuck do you want!?"

Dispatcher: "DO NOT-"

The Caller had hung up. The video cut to a report describing the man's death, shot down by police, images showing his carcass. It wasn't a normal body at all, the "Mimic" in this situation was also not found -- the body left in a bastardized state, neck so long that it could reach the top of his own two-story house, wretched and twisted arms with bone and flesh sticking out from under the skin with backward feet.

The video quickly moved onto the second type, "Abnormal." There wasn't an audio example for this one, but there were a variety of visual ones. The "looks" of these abnormals varied from barely any changes to absolutely abhorrent. I'll describe the most noticeable ones from each category since there were categories for how far the "mutations" of these abnormals can get. The first category was referred to as, "Unusual," the most notable example shown was of a grinning man, it was cartoonish, the sides of their mouth literally reaching the sides of their eyes, gums, and teeth flashing the camera, ears looking as if they were melting. The second category was, "Breaching the Realm of Possibility." Most notable was a picture of a man without their face, just two white bulging eyes amidst a blackened surface for where their face should be, neck elongated -- It was as long as someone's entire arm. The third category shown was labeled, "Impossible," having a classification compared to the other categories. I would have to guess that each category is in the realm of being moderately dangerous, but this one was just classified as, "Incomprehensibly Dangerous." and "Beyond Human Reason." There was only one picture example before following up with a video correlating with the related category, but... the picture.

It wasn't like the other pictures, others shot like they were prisoners, or getting their ID in a DMV -- this time, the picture was taken at a distance, a subtitle put beside it saying, "Picture Taken Before Death (DO NOT APPROACH BY ANY MEANS)." The picture was of a few houses, powerlines placed around town here and there, and amidst this forest of houses and power lines, something stood. Big glowing eyes peering through a blackened sky, two silhouettes sitting below these floating eyes. That is all it was, and I'm assuming that not all of these, "Impossible" abnormals look the same either.

The tape cut to something else, once again giving me tonal whiplash as what looked like someone recording themselves driving started playing. It went on for an hour before cutting to whoever was recording entering their house. The camera was placed down, showing someone's living room, this someone being an older man, turning on the lights inside his own house. I sped up the footage to get through faster but the rest of this part of the tape was the man turning on the lights around his own house. The footage cut to something new after a horrid noise played out.

The man was looking out his window, panicking, breathing wildly, the shine of his flashlight blocking its view, quickly turning it off after realizing such, cursing under his breath all the while. The camera zoomed in showing an odd chimera-esque creature caked in darkness, its silhouette shown through a streetlight resting quietly behind it - sat in the fetal position. Knees pressed against its chest, looking to be about the size of a car, shifting back and forth, two twisted horns poking out from the back of its skull. A light purring, distorted slightly, rang through the air, seemingly coming from the beastly figure. "What the fuck... so loud." The man mumbled, a reflection of him calling someone on his phone shown through the window. Barely audible whispers could be heard from him calling the police, their conversation cutting off altogether as the creature's neck snapped over to look at him. A faint gasping could be heard as its elongated figure rises up from the asphalt below, the purring growing louder and louder before ending in a cascade of beeping and droning and rumbling. Then, silence... black.

What confused me most wasn't the creatures, or whatever. To be honest, after reflection... I don't know, it could be fake. Makes more sense to be fake but... the date. It's what made me doubt this all honestly since the date at the end was set in 2020. I don't know what to feel about that. Especially since more and more cases regarding whatever this is are becoming evermore popular.

I don't know...
