Premature Evacuation
It was too soon: A Micro fiction for most, fact for some.
Cruising along on a chipper Sunday morning from 30 days in rehab, a reckless driver sideswiped me, forcing my vehicle onto jagged rocks littering the shoulder. I was left with two flat tires. Exasperated, I decided to hitchhike.
When I arrived home, I found a piece of mail from the facility I wrote to myself. I don't remember doing it at all. It read, "Check under the junk drawer." I walked straight to the kitchen and pulled out the drawer. Taped underneath were bags of drugs. I calmly put the drawer down, took a shower and hitchhiked back to rehab...
