Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say.

Yet, Dennis wasn't in the vacuum of it. He'd been planning for this for a long while. He was actually surprised that the higher-ups have given him the clearance for this. It was one of those surreal moments where he knew that if he had questioned it that he would lose all of the privilege's he'd just been gifted. So, he decided to make the most of it.

After checking the containers from the newly recent inventory list, he'd begin putting his plan into action. He put the first bag in his room, and started prepping what looked like an "horror scene" for his colleagues. He couldn't help but to laugh and chuckle as his plan was all coming together.

"Oh man, I can't wait for them to see this."

Moving out of his room, but leaving the door propped open, he moved on his way to set up the rest of the traps. Grabbing a door remote, he pocketed it as he continued setting things up. Once he got dressed, he waited for the first victim to take the bait.

Hiding in a dark secluded spot, he was giddy just watching his phone. He could barely keep himself from constantly giggling. Taking in a few deep breaths, he set things into motion. Pressing the button on his phone, his Bluetooth connected to a speaker in his room. The sound was that of a fight, a scuffle, and then it finished off with a blood curdling scream.

Watching on his phone again from a camera that he'd place outside his room, he watched slowly as two people approached them. "Oh boy! I can't wait to scare the hell out Jack and Amy."

As the two went inside, they saw what looked like to be Dennis, and were struck with horror. It seemed that his head was bashed in and that there was blood everywhere. Some of it was on his bed spread, a bit was splashed on his desk, there was some splatter on the wall, and some floated in the air. Amy let out a scream, and Jack had to go grab a garbage bag to puke in. What remained to be Dennis' "corpse" laid lifeless stuffed in part of an area between his bed and the wall.

"Who could do this?" Jack was in disbelief. "Who could do such a thing."

"Jack," Amy started, "It's not safe. I don't feel safe here. What do we do?"

"Obviously we gotta get the rest of the crew together. Here, stick by me, and follow my lead. We need to act like everything's alright, so that nobody thinks that there's a murderer among us, but more importantly as to not alert the murderer."

"Alright. So, should we get headed to the meeting room first?"

"As much as I'd like to, I first wanna get armed. I practically feel naked right now without a weapon."

"Same here."

Just as he saw them leave his room from his phone, he left and bounced out from his hiding space towards them in a hurry. Looking around the door's corner and peaking around slowly, but cautiously, Jack and Amy started to make their way towards the maintenance department to grab a few tools as forms of crude weaponry.

Just as they were moving down the hallway from Dennis' room, Amy saw something out of the corner of her eye.

"Jack! Jack! JACK!" Her voice grew in higher pitches the more she said his name. Her finger pointed out in the direction of her fear.

"What?!" He turned around in a panic looking at her.

"B-B-BIG SCARY B-B-B-BLACK MONSTER!"

Dennis hit the stereo button on the speaker for his suit. The roar of the speaker echoing down the corridor towards colleagues.

Jack and Amy both screamed. Amy pushed off of Jack, sending him flying away from the walls. Scurrying quickly, she climber around the Dennis' bedroom door quickly and yanked it shut. Just as Jack had gotten a hold of the floor to propel himself back towards a wall, the panic in his eyes grew larger as what he thought was the monster got closer to him.

Desperately, Jack tried to yank on the door, "AMY! AMY! OPEN THE DOOR! AMY PLEASE! OPEN THE DOOR!"

"I'M SORRY JACK! I'M TOO SCARED! THERE'S NOT ENOUGH TIME!"

Just as she had popped her head up to look at the glass window on Dennis' door, she saw Jack go, "OOOOOH SHIT!" Yanking himself off from the door, Jack flung himself done the walls of the corridor trying to get to the next door. All he needed was to lock himself behind something in order to be safe.

Getting to the bathroom door, he entered the pin code as fast as he could, unlocking it. Pushing on the door to open it, he flew to the wall behind him, but he only did so, to propel himself into the bathroom even quicker.

"Hey! I'm in here! What do you think you're doing!" Polly started yelling at Jack furiously. "I'm taking a shower in here you pervert! Get the fuck out!" Still behind the shower curtain, she could hear him panting heavily. "Geez, you really are a pervert aren't you Seth?! When I get out of here I'm gonna kick your ass and then take you to human resources once we land!"

Rinsing off quickly, she turned off the water and toweled off quickly. Polly always kept two towels when she showered; one to dry, and the other to cover herself with. After wrapping herself up, she unzipped the shower bag, stepped out, zipped it back up to not let out any excess water, and turned to face her "peeper."

"YOU'VE GOT SOME MIND- Jack?" She was more confused than ever. Jack was happily married with kids. Plus, from the stories that his wife told her, she was the aggressor in the bedroom. So, it didn't make sense to Polly for Jack to have an urge to peep and break his marital vows, now matter how far away he was from his wife.

"What the hell's going on Jack? This isn't like you."

Panting, Jack started in small breaths. "Dennis is dead. Head caved in. Amy's hiding. Big scary monster."

"What? A monster?"

"Yeah," he shook his head eagerly, "a monster."

She rolled her eyes. "Let me see."

He shook his head vehemently. "No."

"Let. Me. See."

"You'll- You'll die just like Dennis."

"Oh puh-leaze, you think that punk's got any fighting skills compared to me?"

"It's not human, whatever it is. It looked so real too. God I know I won't be able to sleep tonight."

"Jack," she floated closer to him, giving him a full on glare of resting bitch face with a venomous smile. "You are going to open that door for me, and let me out, or I will take you to human resources for trying to hold me hostage while naked, and to make matters worse, I'll embellish it to your wife and kids. Think about how your daughters will think of you when they hear that their big strong daddy is really a disgusting pervert."

She crossed a line there. As much as Jack cared for the safety of himself, his loved ones, and his crewmates, if anybody were to threaten his family and separating them from him, he'd give them exactly what they'd ask for. Jack was always a monkey's paw kind of guy. So, he said to her, "Stick close to the walls, and fly to your room A.S.A.P."

Standing up, he turned around, unlocked the door, and opened it up. Checking the view quickly, he said, "It's all clear now. Hurry, go."

"Geez, alright fine. You know Jack, if it weren't for the fact that you were married, most men would call you crazy to pass up an opportunity such as this. I mean, you got me all by myself in my birthday suit here, only wearing a towel-."

"Get out." He pointed towards the hallway.

"Alright, fine. Sheesh. Remove the stick from your ass, pal. Huh, maybe that's why your wife loves you."

Not wanting to hear her teasing him anymore, Jack shut the door quickly behind Polly. The last thing she heard was the sound of the lock.

"Jack?" She was sensing that something was seriously off now. The energy wasn't quite right. "Jack?" She entered the passcode for the lock, but Jack kept it manually lock purposefully from the other side. "Jack come on, this isn't funny anymore. Jack. Hey, Jaaaaack!"

"Hee hee hee" he giggled inside of his head, "this is gonna be good." Popping out from the shadows, Dennis blasted the volume of the roar from his speakers. Polly saw this, heard this, and absolutely started panicking.

"JACK! JACK! JACK!" She yanked on the door multiple times. "JACK! IT'S HERE!"

"RUN!" She heard him yell from the other side of the wall.

Just like that she did. She pushed off from the wall, trying to move as fast as she can. Sadly for Polly she would end up reenacting a scene from Desperate Housewives.

"NO! MY TOWEL!" Seeing it wave like a flag caught in the door, she didn't turn around for it, as the monster had proceeded to approach her even faster. Paddling through the air, gripping onto the walls as fast as she could, she flew to the nearest room and she starting yelling like bloody murder at the top of her lungs. "SETH! SETH! OPEN YOUR DOOR! SETH! I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME!"

Prying his door open, Seth was groggy, but his eyes perked up once he saw Polly. "Hey, Polly, so you've come around huh-," then he saw what was behind her. "HOLY SHIT! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!"

"PLEASE HELP! PLEASE HELP! PLEASE HELP!"

"GET IN! GET IN! GET IN!" He waved his hands at her. Turning around, he grabbed a few books from his nearby nightstand. "DUCK!" Throwing them at her direction, Polly flew down to the floor as the books hit Dennis' monster suit square in the chest. "HURRY! HURRY! HURRY!" As soon as her feet crossed the door, Seth slammed the door shut.

"Ah, what the fuck was THAT?!"

"I DON'T KNOW! Jack said it killed Dennis!"

"Oh fuck." Seth sank down. Flying over to his closet, he tossed a pair of pants and button up blouse at her, "Here, get dressed."

"Huh, out of all the people, you're the last person I expect to give me clothes."

"Ugh," he started, "I want you to want to show me when you want to. Not like this. Plus, we've got more pressing things to deal with currently."

Meanwhile, outside of the doors, in the hallway, Dennis couldn't stop laughing. Taking the head off of the suit, he started laughing uncontrollably. Floating to his door, he knocked on his room. Laughing through tears, he said, "Amy. Amy. Open up. It's me."

Thinking she was hearing his ghost, or his deceased body speaking to her, she panicked and screamed. Opening the door as quickly as possible, she flew straight into Dennis.

"Ooof! Watch it Amy! Geez, you may only weigh like 110lbs, but you hit like a friggin' truck."

"You're alive?" She asked through watery tears.

"Duh, it was a prank. I got permission from the higher ups and boy, were the looks on your face priceless."

Her face turning a bright pink, and more tears streaming down her face, she proceeded to pound her fist on him whilst yelling, "You're such a big meany! I can't believe you! Uggghhh! I hate it when you do stuff like that! I was actually grieving over your death there!"

Grabbing her arms to stop her from beating him, he chuckled and said, "Come on, let's go get the rest of the crew and tell them that it all was a joke. I know that if I say anything, they'll think it's my ghost or mutilated body."

Still fuming, she took in a deep huff, crossed her arms and said, "Meany."

Lol, this was so funny! Loved that you reenacted the scene from Desperate Housewives where Susan gets locked out of her house naked. Great tribute to the show! You did a fantastic job on this story! I loved it!
