Powerless: A Brave Journey Through a Superhuman Society

John

By Şevval ÖzdenPublished about a year ago 3 min read

In a world where every individual was born with a unique superpower, John was the only one who was powerless. He had grown up seeing people flying, teleporting, and manipulating objects with their minds. He was always the outsider, the one who didn't belong.

John had learned to hide his lack of powers as best as he could. He wore a mask to cover his face, so nobody would know who he was. He also avoided social gatherings, and whenever he was in public, he would keep his head down and try to blend in with the crowd. But no matter how hard he tried, he was always seen as inferior.

One day, John was walking down the street when he heard a cry for help. He looked around and saw a woman being mugged by a man who had the ability to control fire. The woman was screaming for help, but everyone around them was too scared to intervene.John knew he had to do something. He didn't have any powers, but he had something else – courage. He ran towards the man and tackled him to the ground. The man tried to burn John with his flames, but John was quick enough to dodge his attacks. The crowd around them was stunned. Nobody had ever seen someone without a power confront a superhuman before. The mugger got up and prepared to attack John again, but the woman he had been mugging suddenly intervened.

"Stop it!" she shouted. "He's just a human. He doesn't have any powers. Leave him alone!"

The mugger was surprised. He had never encountered anyone without a power before. He stared at John, trying to understand what was happening. John stood up and looked at the mugger with fierce determination.

"You can't just hurt people because you have a power," John said. "That's not what it's meant for."

The mugger was taken aback. He had never thought about the consequences of his actions before. He had always assumed that his power gave him the right to do whatever he wanted. But John's words had opened his eyes. The woman thanked John for saving her and offered to buy him a cup of coffee. They sat down at a nearby café and began talking. The woman's name was Sarah, and she was an artist who had the ability to bring her paintings to life.

John was fascinated by her work, and Sarah was intrigued by John's bravery. They talked for hours, sharing their experiences and hopes for the future. Sarah even offered to teach John how to draw, and John discovered that he had a talent for it.

As they parted ways, Sarah hugged John and told him that he was special, even without a power. John felt a warmth in his heart that he had never felt before. He realized that he didn't need a power to be extraordinary. He just needed to be himself.

John began to see the world in a new light. He noticed the kindness and generosity of people who had powers, who were willing to help those who didn't. He realized that being powerless didn't mean being weak. It meant being human, and that was something to be proud of.

Years later, John became an artist himself. He used his talents to inspire others and to show them that they too could be extraordinary. He was still seen as an outsider by some, but he didn't care. He knew that he had something that nobody else had – his own unique perspective on the world. And as he painted, he felt a sense of joy and fulfillment that he knew he would never have found if he had been born with a power. For him, being powerless was the greatest gift of all.
