He ran from the forest, into the path of a truck barrelling along, just missed by the skin of his teeth.

After some time the truck holts on the side of the road, the driver shakily exiting the cab.

“You bloody fool, what do you think you are doing?” The driver screamed.

“Watch how you talk to me man, I’ve just committed the perfect murder,” the runner yelled.

“You almost committed the perfect suicide, and now you’re a jokester. You’re stark raving mad,” the trucker laughed as he climbed into his cab, taking to the highway, leaving the insanity behind.

I was challenged to write a drabble of the word ‘murder'.

Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :

A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful ideas in a confined space.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
