A pluck of a higher note occasionally accented the gentle song of the rain. The thunder lazily growled behind her from the southern sky. Walking lightly over her. Just to remind her.....

She took a deep breath in, the rain made tiny rivers over her skin. Her hair lengthened as the curls surrendered to the water and turned into soft waves. There was a man moving slowly, at a rhythm only he knew. His thin white shirt dampened and clung to his body revealing a disciplined frame that had seen many years. White hair curtained his tight lips and narrow face. Swaying black pants billowed around his bare feet. Sandals were set to his side, neatly in the grass. His eyes had deep smile wrinkles and when he noticed her curious gaze, he smiled.

She lit up. His teeth were few but his grin was more beautiful to her than many she had seen. It was a smile that assured peace. He waved and bowed. She was ecstatic. Warmth flowed through her as she got closer to him. The rain turned into a soft steady mist. He didn't say a word, he continued to flow.

She stood 6 feet from him and became his student. She watched his breath continue perfectly, his stomach rising and falling in perfect rhythm. Arms outstretched, he leaned forward and found the earth. She didn't blink as he sunk more of his weight into his hands. She held her breath as his hips stretched high and dropped. She got a handle on her breathing, focusing all of her attention on the sensation of the light mist traveling through her nose. She found his rhythm in her belly. She began to move with him. Together they transformed into Staff, then Dog, then Monkey, then Cat, then Cow and finally, Rising Sun. Bathed in golden, cloud softened light, they became the glow underneath the gloom, a sight for eyes needing peace. They beamed with intensely satisfied smiles as they shared a moment without words.

Broad shoulders and torn jeans stood over a ragged skateboard lost in their movement. He watched from its start to the moment they parted ways.

Something about it made him happy. For a minute there was no virus. There were no SAT's. The young man had even forgot about the reply of the girl he was waiting on....he was with his two new teachers....his two new friends.

Together without a word they felt the collective peace of the present. It washed over them in sheets far more intense than the light mist that continued to slowly descend over their heads.

Before the young man picked up his skateboard. Before the woman and her elder parted ways. They all were touched by the same breeze.

A sweet scent had been delivered to them and each of them at the same time followed the invisible trail with their eyes, seeking the source of the wonderful smell. Tan and brown bark gave way to branches filled with multitudes of flawless pears.

Confirmation enhanced the aroma and they all enhaled again, savoring the scent. By the time they did finally take their leave of each other, they all had tasted heaven and had known it had grown deeper.
