We lay next to each other on the grass waiting for the eclipse. Apparently the moon would turn blood red. It was still sparkly silver for the first half hour then shades of beetroot began to slowly seep in.

I shivered and reached for the blanket but it was to my left. My hand went right and landed on his lap.

“Sorry” I muttered. My face was redder than the moon.

He reached over and cupped my face with one frozen hand.

“Eclipses happen all the time. We’ll only have this moment once,” he said.
