Peter looks lovingly at his fiancée as she sleeps. How’d he get so lucky?

Amber rolls onto her side, opens her eyes and smiles at Peter. “Good morning my love,” she whispers.

Peter leans down for a kiss. “I’ve got to go babe, here’s my credit card. I can’t wait to see you in the wedding dress you choose today. Have fun.”

Amber grins at Peter’s back as he leaves the room. When will he realise that the dress he pays for today is the dress she’ll wear to marry Andrew, who just so happens to be Peter’s best friend?

This drabble has been written as part of the daily Drabble Drop challenge and today's random word, that must be included in the drabble, is 'credit'.

Wikipedia defines a drabble as follows :

A drabble is a short work of fiction of precisely one hundred words in length. The purpose of the drabble is brevity, testing the author's ability to express interesting and meaningful idea in a confined space.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
