Mindy was done arguing with Beau. She was done trying to reason with him. It was all one-sided anyway, and the answer was always the same. They’d been arguing for months, and it was getting them nowhere. It was time for her to make a rash decision.

So, she made a quick phone call outside while Beau was showering. Then she went to the store and bought a lot of toys and a unique bed. Mindy also found some adorable outfits and decided to grab a few of them. At home, she set the guest bedroom up for a new addition to the family, putting the toys in a basket and setting the bed up in the center of the room. She moved the Queen-sized bed that was in there to the garage.

Once the room was set up, she added the new dishes for the new family member to the kitchen and put the food and treats she’d bought for them in the pantry. Now, all she had to do was wait. Wait for the phone call to come.

Finally, Mindy received the call she had been waiting for. The baby would be delivered this afternoon, right before Beau came home from work. The paperwork could be signed and completed, and the couple delivering the small one could be gone well before he pulled into the driveway.

Later, as her husband parked his car in the garage, she put the baby in the playpen she had bought for it at the specialty store she’d gone to. She then went to wait for her husband to walk in the door leading from the garage. When he came in, she kissed him and asked if he’d like something to drink. When he said no, she followed him into the living room, where he stood in complete shock, staring at the German shorthaired pointer puppy she had bought that day.

Mindy just smiled. There was no stopping her when she decided on something, and she told him she wanted a puppy.

I hope he is nice to the puppy or he will be outside living in a dog house 🏡 for his own making!
