Luna the Talking Wolf
A Story of Friendship and Bravery
Once upon a time, in a deep, dark forest, there was a young wolf named Luna. Luna was not like any other wolf in the forest because she had the unique ability to talk.
As a young pup, Luna discovered her extraordinary talent when she was out exploring the forest on her own. She heard a faint voice calling her name and turned to see a small bird perched on a nearby branch. She surprise, the bird spoke to her in a language she could understand.
Over time, Luna learned that not only could she communicate with other animals in the forest, but she could also use her gift to help others. She became known as the protector of the forest, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
One day, Luna was on her usual patrol when she stumbled upon a fawn caught in a hunter's trap. The fawn was crying and struggling to free itself, but it was no use. Luna knew she had to act fast.
With her sharp teeth, Luna managed to break the trap and free the fawn. The fawn looked up at Luna with grateful eyes and asked, "How can I ever thank you for saving my life?"
Luna smiled and replied, "Just promise me you'll stay safe and never trust the hunters who roam these woods."
From that day on, Luna and the fawn became best friends. They spent their days exploring the forest, playing games, and talking about everything under the sun. Luna was happy to have a friend who understood her gift and the importance of protecting their home.
One afternoon, while Luna and the fawn were out foraging for food, they stumbled upon a group of animals gathered around a beautiful waterfall. Luna recognized some of the animals as friends, but she noticed that they were all looking downcast and worried.
"What's wrong?" Luna asked.
One of the animals, a wise old owl, spoke up. "We've heard rumors that a group of hunters is planning to come to the forest and capture as many animals as they can. We fear for our safety and the safety of our families."
Luna knew she had to do something. She called upon her friends in the forest, including the fawn, to help her devise a plan to protect their home. They spent many long hours strategizing and preparing for the hunters' arrival.
Finally, the day arrived. The hunters entered the forest, their guns at the ready. But to their surprise, they were met with a fierce resistance. Luna and her friends banded together, using their knowledge of the forest and their unique abilities to outwit and outmaneuver the hunters at every turn.
After many hours of intense struggle, the hunters finally retreated from the forest, defeated and empty-handed. Luna and her friends emerged victorious, proud of what they had accomplished together.
As Luna and the fawn sat under the shade of a tree, watching the hunters disappear into the distance, the fawn turned to Luna and said, "You truly are a hero, Luna. Without you, we would have never been able to protect our home and our families."
Luna smiled and replied, "It wasn't just me. It was all of us, working together as a team. And as long as we have each other, we'll always be able to overcome any challenge that comes our way."
And with that, Luna and her friends basked in the warmth of the sun, content in the knowledge that they had each other and their home in the deep, dark forest.

Six Feet Under
Buried alive. What a horrible way to go. Yazz lay there, in her own thoughts. What else could she do? She was hungry, thirsty, tired, mentally, and physically exhausted, and more than anything, she was bored. She hoped she would die of boredom before anything else, anything else would've been more painful. Like many people had, she and her friends had talked about what they reckon the worst ways to die were, it was a morbid subject, but it came up every now and again. Yazz had always been one to argue her point on drowning, others had mentioned burning alive, slowly and painfully bleeding to death, hung drawn and quartered, and being starved to death. It was strange that none of them had considered being buried alive, it had never come up. But now, she was thinking back to those conversations her and her friends had had, how could they have not thought about it? It took a lot longer than the others, you were completely confined, you couldn't move or do anything, you just had to wait, until your body was physically unable to support a life system anymore, which could take up to four days. Four! By far the longest out of all of them. She recounted some of these conversations just to try and pass the time, anything to pass the time. It was difficult to know how much time had passed since she had been underground, it was difficult to know anything. There were many things that Yazz didn't know, she didn't know where she was, she didn't know how she'd got into the coffin, she'd just woken up there. Yazz also didn't know what time it was, or even what day it was, she guessed at Tuesday, it was Sunday evening when she'd been buried alive, intentionally, and although it had felt like weeks had passed, she was still alive, which means she hadn't died from dehydration, and therefore it couldn't have been more than four days.

The Beamish Boy
The day dawned chill and pale, muted by the whispering mists that rose from the swampy woods lapping the hillsides, a foreboding sea of green and soupy grey. Down there, between the warped trunks and mossy loam, the fug was thronged with the slimed bodies of creatures that thrive in the murk, the plashes and scurries and screeches of their morning japing sending eddies of animation into the haze, loosening its grip on their world. Further into the forest, where swamp segued to bog, and tussocked fingers of dry land became stretches of solid ground, droplets of sunlight sequined the vapour, shimmying between the trees and into small clearings, a suggestion of something charmed that belied the doleful lamentations emanating from those darker, denser columns of fog moving in still air on the edges of the quagmire.
