Search Party 22, entry #1, year 2072

The world is ending. The ground hasn’t stopped shaking and the sky has been filled with lightning and storms for years. It all started after the world came into existence, and the earth first moved, and the sky gave life breath. For eons, the living embodiment of the Earth, Gaia, and the embodiment of the sky, Uranus, loved each other with all their hearts. They created all life on the planet and ensured the survival of everything upon her body and in the heavens. The two were made for each other in every sense, but one day, Uranus’ eyes began to wonder on the women of the world, and Gaia felt betrayed at his actions. The very first storm was their first fight, and it raged for days as they shouted and fought over what Uranus had done. In the end, he apologized to his love for his mistake, and the storm finally subsided, but sadly, things did not end there.

Uranus would soon repeat his mistake, but he took it one step further and through this step, the first Gods were created from the union of a human women and what was dubbed ‘Titans’. This new creation, that was not intended to exist, enraged Gaia, who threatened to wipe out this new species in retaliation. After she wiped most of these Gods out, the Goddess Aphrodite sought peace between the Titans and the remaining gods, and offered her a mystic gem as a token of appeasement. Gaia was told the Ruby was a made from her and Uranus’ eternal love, and the Titan accepted this, sparing the rest of the Gods. However, the lost of so many of his children enrage Uranus, and the world was thrown into another great storm, one that nearly annihilated all creation, but they stopped once again. Soon after, the remaining Gods helped mankind grow and there was peace across creation. However, some humans grew jealous of the Titans power, and they sought to find a way to make it their own.

The human race then began to create what they could, and over the millennia, we became masters of our craft. We made cars to traverse the ground with ease and made planes to fly through the sky and see places across the world. As we did, the Titans simply watched as their creation grew, and they were impressed. With this level of connection, Gaia became filled with joy to see what she regarded as her children sharing their cultures and knowledge. However, Uranus believed the creation of planes to be an afront to him, believing they were trying to infringe on his domain. Soon, storms became more common, forcing the planes to stay grounded for a time, and he and Gaia would get into small spats about the issue over many decades. Then, Uranus decided to get back at the human race and created what we call ‘The Bermuda Triangle’, and the Titan of the sky was content with his perceived retribution.

I believe I have gone on long enough with the explanation of what has been happening, so I will get to the more recent events. Out of seemingly nowhere, massive lightning storms shook the skies and tornados tore apart the building’s humans had created. Gaia knew that Uranus was doing this, and she tried to speak with him about what was happening, but he attacked her without care or remorse. It soon became a battle of earth and sky, with Gaia protecting those she could while Uranus did everything in his power to wipe out all life on earth. The Gods tried to help Gaia, but they were not strong enough to face their father, and he struck them down just as mercilessly. It took time for Gaia to learned that someone had tried to seal the power of Uranus away so they themselves could have it, but it did not go according to plan. Instead of Uranus’ power, they locked away the Titans love for everything he and Gaia had created inside what was described as a heart-shaped locket, and now the world was near annihilation from this human’s mistake.

The most people have heard about this locket is the shape, being like that of a valentine’s heart, and only the search parties have been told anything more. There was a rumor that the locket was forged from the strongest metals in existence, but no-one could confirm this story. Another rumour said that scientists in Athens found Pandora’s Box, and the Box was remade into this locket. Gaia had told some of us that the Box appeared to be missing, though she said she may have lost track of it in her defence of us. Gaia also let slip that she had lost the Ruby Aphrodite had given her, and there were reports of a red shine coming from the mountains to the north.

It is unknown who the human was who attempted to steal Uranus’ power, but it was safe to assume they were wiped from existence not long after. As for the location of the locket, it was lost not long after Uranus’ assault on the earth, and Gaia has been too busy protecting us to search for it herself. That is why the human race has been sending search parties to hopefully find the locket and release what was taken from Uranus. If we can find it, then we can end Uranus’ rampage and the world might be saved, but it is possible that we are already too late. With the storms Uranus has created and Gaia fighting back against her lover, the sea’s have overtaken some of the land, and the forests are burning away. It is possible that the world may end, even if we are able to find the locket. That aside, we will do all we can to find it, and we hold onto hope that the world can be saved. As such, we have just begun our search to the northern mountains, as one of our members theorized that the Ruby may have been used with the locket as a conduit for Uranus’ power. I will continue writing in this notebook so that if we do not return, someone may find it and finish our mission.
