"Misty! get down here! your dad need your back for a footrest!" misty's mom says. "Im coming!" misty responds. You may be wondering.. who is misty? why do her dad need her as a footrest? is she like a servant? a foster child? No. Misty is a 9 year old girl with a heart as pure as gold. she plays with her dollys and can't sleep without her favorite stuffed toy that she named mrs cuddles. she is just like any other 9 year old girl, well minus the part with her parents. her parents may not look like bad people in front of an audiance, but behind closed doors nobody will ever know whats going on.

Misty's room door slams open when her mom walks in stepping on her crayons and breaking it. Misty then looks to her mom in fear as she knows what happens next. without a word mistys mother grabs misty by her left arm, brings her upstairs in to the attic and throws her on to a mattress on the floor. Misty starts to cry as her dad walks in yelling at the top of his lungs, "you weird little girl! what have i told you about not running down when we say!? you should be ashamed of yourself! your not allowed out of this room until next week!". her parents then break the knob on the inside of the attic, exits, and locks the door on the outside leaving misty in the dark.

Misty starts to sob as she lays on the hard matress with nothing but a pillow full of dust. The young girl then starts to drift off to sleep when she hear something fall on the other side of the attic. she opens her eyes wide fearful for what may happen next. she slowly stands up on the floor mattress and tries to investigate what that noise was. she then slowly tip toes towards a tower of boxes making sure that her parents can't hear her steps. once she gets to the boxes more boxes start to fall. "what may be behind these boxes?" she wonders. the young girl then climbs up on the fallen boxes and peeks over. "come closer dear" a tiny voice says."we have brighter days for you darling" another voice says. full with curiosity, misty climbs over the rest of the boxes and falls on a huge bean bag behind the boxes.

Although she knew she would be stuck back behind that huge tower of boxes with no way back around, she was positive that maybe she can find help and escape this awful mess."thats it! come closer! your almost here!" the tiny voices yell with excitement. "who are you?" the young girl whispers making sure her parents can't hear her."where are you?" she adds. "feel around my dear! you will find us!" the tiny voices then responds. Misty does as they say and starts to feel around until she found a candle. As she grabs this rusty old candle, it lights up on its own. "thats odd" Misty says. "since when was this box here?"

sitting right in front of her was a tiny package wrapped in brown paper with a short thick string coming out of it. "oh my! what if thats where the voices was coming from!" she then made a pros and cons in her head for what may happen if she open that box. she sits on the bean bag staring at the box while she holds the odd candle. "But i have to see what is in it!" she says as she reaches for the box with her free hand.

As soon as her hand touches the box, it starts to shake causing her to gasp and quickly pull her hand back. Misty stares at the box wondering what that was. "Don't be scared sweety! we won't hurt you!" another little gentle voice says. "In your hand is not just an ordinary candle, but its a special candle. put the fire to the string!" Still hesitant, misty looks at the candle. "how is this rusty old thing special?" she thought to herself.

Misty grabs the tiny package as fast and gentle as she can and sets it on her lap covered with her blue silk dress that her aunt Josephine gave her before she went missing. she then put the candle fire to the string and watched as the string slowly burn away. Mistys eyes then goes wide as the box starts to slowly open. "oh my! what have i done.."
