“From birth your taught, so many things. The difference between right and wrong. What to be afraid of? versus what is safe? This is until you get to the age where you begin to understand your own fears, safe zones, and whether you truly even care about everyone else’s personal rules”. Kat sates to her therapist at the end of her session. Kat heads home, and lays on the couch thinking about her therapy session and the breakthrough of the session.

She decided to get up and create a few lists. First list, what would I like to accomplish right now? Moving to a new city, apply for my bosses’ position, possibly own multiple properties. Second list, what are my fears about this? I’m safe in my current city and no family in another city. I could fail at my bosses’ job, and become jobless. I have bills of my own to pay, owning multiple properties could be a financial burden, if I don’t make a good landlord. Kat has now increased her fears after just having a breakthrough in therapy.

She hears a knock on the door, and goes to open it. Kat says, “Hello Elizabeth.” Elizabeth says, “Hey what are you up to?” Kat “making a plan to get over my fears.” Elizabeth “what is it that you are trying to accomplish?” Kat “I want to move out of town or apply for my bosses’ job. Maybe even purchase some properties to become a landlord.” I really believe I can do this.” Elizabeth laughing hysterically says “that’s insane”, and continues laughing. Kat continues to explain in so much passion all the possibilities in life, and how she wants to accomplish more in life. Elizabeth continuously laughing and brushing off everything Kat is saying, which in tern is just Elizabeth projecting her fears onto kat.” Kat says, “Elizabeth you should try therapy.” Without saying it out loud Elizabeth is now quietly thinking do I really need therapy. Kat immediately grabs her keys to her car and says, “Elizabeth lets go for a drive.” They both gather items to prepare to go enjoy the night lights.

While sitting in silence deep into their own personal thoughts after their bantering discussion. Kat notices while driving that all the lights are red, which triggers her thoughts and emotions. Kat thinks to herself, fear is like a red light, a red light constantly stopping you’re every turn. You can be so close to your destination, and there goes another red light. Just stopping you even though you’re staring right at the perfect spot in front of your destination. The light turns green and Kat quickly puts her foot on the gas and begins driving. Elizabeth gasp with concern. Kat continues driving running through every red light, another red light, and another red light. Elizabeth yells “what are you doing? You are scaring me.” Kats says, “haven’t you noticed all the lights tonight are red, we have had to stop at every single light since we left the house.” Elizabeth says, “that’s the point of a red light you stop”. Kat says “we have to overcome the fear, and get rid of the red lights. The red lights equal fear.” Kat is doing ninety at this point, and running every single red light. Kat says, “We need to push through the red lights.” Elizabeth closes her eyes seeing as Kat may truly be a little insane, while also having a point, but still very scary. Finally, Kat hits the breaks the tires screech and the car stops. Elizabeth opens her eyes and says the light is green why did you stop? Are we dead?” Kat says “No, we are just fine. The red lights are the fears, and we just push through them, and we are fine.” Pushing through leads you to your green light, a place of no fear and a lot of open doors.
