It was a dark and stormy night, and Mia was driving home from her late shift at the diner. The rain was coming down in sheets, making it hard for her to see the road ahead. She had never been a fan of driving in the rain, but tonight was different. She felt like something was watching her, something evil.

As she approached a bend in the road, she saw a figure standing on the side of the road. It was a man, dressed in tattered clothes and holding a large machete. Mia slammed on the brakes, but it was too late. The man stepped out in front of her car, and she hit him with a sickening thud.

Shaken and terrified, Mia got out of her car to check on the man. But when she got closer, she realized that he wasn't a man at all. His skin was gray and mottled, and his eyes were glowing red. Mia stumbled back in horror, but the creature didn't move. It just stood there, watching her with those sinister eyes.

Mia got back in her car and tried to start the engine, but it wouldn't turn over. She was trapped, alone with this monster in the middle of nowhere. She tried to call for help, but her phone was dead. She was completely cut off from the outside world.

Suddenly, the creature started to move. It stepped closer and closer to Mia's car, its eyes never leaving hers. Mia was paralyzed with fear, unable to move or even scream. She knew that this was the end.

But just as the creature reached her car, there was a blinding flash of light. Mia's eyes closed involuntarily, and when she opened them again, the creature was gone. She started her car and drove away as fast as she could, not stopping until she reached her home.

Mia tried to convince herself that it was all just a hallucination, that she had imagined the whole thing. But deep down, she knew that something had happened that night. Something that she couldn't explain.

Over the next few days, Mia couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. She would see movement out of the corner of her eye, but when she turned to look, there was nothing there. She heard strange noises in her house at night, like footsteps or whispering voices. She tried to tell herself that it was just her imagination, but the fear was always there, lurking just beneath the surface.

One night, Mia woke up to find that her bedroom door was open. She was certain that she had closed it before she went to bed, but now it was standing wide open. She could feel a cold breeze blowing through the room, and she heard the sound of footsteps coming closer.

Mia tried to scream, but no sound came out. She was frozen with fear, unable to move or even breathe. The footsteps grew louder and louder, until she could feel the presence of something standing right beside her bed.

And then, just like that, it was gone. The footsteps faded away, and the cold breeze disappeared. Mia was left alone in her dark, silent room, trembling with fear.

From that moment on, Mia knew that she was being haunted by something evil. She tried to ignore it, to pretend that it wasn't there, but it was always there, lurking just out of sight. She couldn't escape it, no matter how hard she tried.

One day, Mia decided that she couldn't take it anymore. She packed a bag and left her house, determined to find some kind of answer to the horror that had taken over her life. She traveled to a small town in the mountains, where she heard that there was a wise old woman who could help her.
