Heather looked at the dress that was on the light that was on her body. It was a beautiful short-sleeve blue chiffon dress that reached her ankles. She loved how it complimented her skin so much. It was part of her latest bridesmaid collection. She just had to find the right shoes for it, as she was heading out to meet the CEO of a clothing company she had been eyeing doing business with for a while now. She was lucky to have gotten an appointment with him at such short notice because apparently he was a busy man.

Her thoughts were interrupted by her ringing cell phone. It was her assistant, Paul.

"How are you, Paul?"

"I am doing well. I just wanted to check up on you and find out if you are settling in well over there," Paul said with his thick French accent, mincing English words as usual.

"Well, living in a hotel room isn't exactly settling in. I always prefer Airbnb's because they are more homely."Heather replied

"You must be kidding me; Airbnb is the poor man's hotel. I prefer room service and having chambermaids do my every bidding," Paul said.

"You are something else," Heather replied.

"Okay, there is another call coming in. I will talk to you later," Paul said.

"Sure, don't work too hard," Heather said.

"I won't, I promise," Paul replied.

Heather smiled as she hung up. Paul was one of the only true friends she had made in France. She could rely on him for everything. Heather was grateful that she had been given the opportunity to study at one of the best fashion schools in the city of lights, where she graduated top of her class and easily landed herself a job at a prestigious company where she rubbed shoulders with the heavyweights of the fashion industry. She wouldn't have it any other way; failure was not an option, as she had a young son who she wanted to give the world to. She didn't want Ethan to live the same life she had lived.

A life of strife and not having enough to make ends meet Heather's heart sank as she thought about how she had lost her mother because her family didn't have enough money to pay for her to get an operation to remove a brain tumor. This forced Heather to end up doing the unthinkable, having a one-night stand with a man she knew nothing about, and despite all that, she still lost her precious mother.

Heather had gone to visit her mother's grave as soon as she landed in the city, and seeing her, the tombstone reaped her apart. Her mother was a strong woman who had sacrificed everything to give them a better life than she had. Heather's father had died in a car accident when she was only five years old.

She couldn't even remember his face. It was all a blur whenever she thought of him, but from the way her mother fondly talked about him, Her father sounded like an amazing man. Heather wished she had known him and that he had lived longer for them to make memories together. It wasn't easy growing up without a father.

Well, at least her life had turned out to be wonderful despite her not-so-lovely upbringing. Heather looked at the time. It was almost noon. Her son and the nanny had gone to the park. They would be back in the late afternoon. Ethan loved the outdoors.

He thrived outside. He was such a happy and loving child. Heather loved being his mother. Ethan was the only family she had left now, since she was estranged from her half-sister Helena.

Heather took out the business card of the CEO she was supposed to meet. His name was Killian Johnson. She stared at the name on the card for longer than five minutes. It wasn't a common name. Her palms suddenly got sweaty, and her heart started beating faster than usual. She thought of Killian, the man who had given her one night of passion five years ago and ended up getting her pregnant.

Heather suddenly felt ashamed that she had enjoyed having sex with a total stranger all those years ago, as flashbacks of that night with Killian flooded her mind. She thought of his warm embrace, his sweet lips on hers, their bodies pressing against each other as they gave one another endless pleasure. At that very moment, she felt like the only woman in the world. Heather opened her handbag and took out her cell phone.

She went to Google and wrote down the name that was written on the business card. Heather almost dropped her phone when she saw the images that appeared on her screen. It was the same Killian who had gotten her pregnant. She tapped one image on the screen, and Killian's picture was all over her screen. She looked at his green eyes; they were just like Ethan's.

Killian hadn't changed a bit. He looked just the way she had last seen him. She scrolled through her phone and read the first article written about him. He was a billionaire who had a vast textile empire that was present on over four continents. He was single and didn't have any children. Heather couldn't believe this. She felt as though she was dreaming. She even pinched herself to see if it was real.

Here she was in a car heading to see the man who had gotten her pregnant, and he didn't even know he had a son out there. She had to compose herself before she got out of the car. The building she was supposed to be going to was now in plain sight. The car stopped outside the towering sky scrapper. The drive opened the door, and Heather stepped, and everyone walking on the pavement looked at her. She walked into the spacious reception. A young blonde lady was behind a huge oak desk. Heather moved close.

"I am Miss West. I have an appointment with Mr. Johnson."

"One minute," the receptionist said as she picked up the phone.

"Miss West is here to see you," the receptionist said.

"You can get in. Mr. Johnson is waiting for you," the receptionist said as she ushered Heather into Mr. Johnson's office.

"Mr. Johnson, Miss West is here to see you," the receptionist said.

Heather couldn't believe her eyes as the man standing behind the big oak desk, was indeed Killian, Ethan's father. Heather suddenly felt lightheaded and fainted.
