Hallway Horror

Life Decisions

By Jesse J. RivasPublished about a year ago 1 min read
A way out

There is malevolent creature on the wall above our heads. The door is less than 25’ down the hall. We feel its breath, its heat, its hatred radiating over us. My only thought is to get my 6-year-old daughter to safety.

What I see inching closer to us shows me the horrors to come.

I must get Gianna out the door while a put up a fight.

We have one chance.

Gianna is looking at me with hope dwindling.

Movements of my eyes tell her to run to the door.

A nudge, a charge, pain, flesh, fight, horror, she’s out!
