In 2012, people all over the world were spreading the Mayan prophecy about the end of the world. A large number of tourists from all over the world flocked to the Mayan ruins of Palenque in Chiapas, Mexico, vying to see the style of the Mayan civilization and try to explore the code of the end of the world. There are four young Americans who are also doomsday explorers, and they go to the Palenque ruins to explore together. However, what awaits them is a nightmare of death, as if the end of the world has come early...

Ghost haunts

In July 2012, American Galen went to the Mayan ruins of Palenque, Mexico with his younger brother Olin and friends Wallace and Vaughan. After visiting the ancient city, Galen proposed to explore deep into the lush pristine rainforest around the ancient city. So they hired a guide Kabbah.

A few days later, a huge canyon appeared, shrouded in a layer of light fog, like a fairyland. Olin was about to walk in excitedly, but was pulled by Kabbah. He said in awe, "It's a ghost-infested valley, and whoever walks in will never go back."

Galen asked for details. Kabbah explained that in 1910, a nationwide revolutionary uprising broke out in Mexico. It was in this valley that the peasant uprising army was ambushed by the government army. After a bloody life-and-death battle, more than 2,000 people died here. Since then, people passing through this valley can always hear the sound of cannons and fighting from inside. Everyone said that the more than 2,000 undead were at work, and no one dared to step into this place.

But Orin didn't believe it, and Wallace was also clamoring to go in and meet the undead. Kabbah pursed his mouth tightly and said nothing. Galen hurriedly stopped Orin, saying that since this was the case, he would not enter the valley. Kabbah nodded lightly, leading the crowd in the other direction.

But while Galen was busy photographing the exotic flowers and plants, Orin and Wallace sneaked away. Galen offered to go into the valley to find the two, and Kabbah followed behind him and Vaughan and begged them not to be emotional, but Galen couldn't hear it. Kabbah had to follow.

When they came to the mouth of the ghost valley, several people were surprised to see Wallace staggering out of the valley. "What's the matter with you?" Vaughan rushed up to hug him and shouted. Wallace, however, seemed to not know them, and stared blankly into the distance: murmuring, "Ghosts! Ah - so many ghosts!"

Galen slapped Wallace on the cheek in a hurry, hoping to wake him up. At this moment, a strange scene appeared: Wallace's mouth began to slowly spit out green fluorescence! Several people were stunned, and when they came to their senses, they found that Wallace had stopped breathing.

Phantom of Death

"Olin!" Galen shouted and jumped up, about to run into the valley. Kabbah grabbed him and said worriedly, "What? Don't you believe me?"

"I believe it, but I can't leave Orin as long as there's a chance," Galen said, gritting his teeth, throwing his hand away and running towards the valley. Vaughan jumped up too, yelling "Wait for me" and followed.

Walking through the dense forest with weeds and bushes is very exhausting, so after walking and shouting for a while, the two of them felt dry and dizzy. "Oh, let me take a breath and go." Vaughan only felt that his throat was about to burst into flames. At this time, Galen pointed to the front right and said, "Look, there seems to be a creek over there."

Vaughan rushed to the creek first, and the babbling water was crystal clear and looked luscious and attractive. Vaughan squatted down eagerly, took a few gulps with his hands in his hands, and suddenly felt much more refreshed. He stood up to greet Galen, who was still in the distance, but suddenly saw a green light floating towards him, screamed in fright, and raised his legs to escape. But what made him terrified was that his legs seemed to be firmly sucked into the ground, unable to move.

"Oh my God! Galen, come and save me! I can't move!" Vaughan cried in horror, and at the same time found more and more green lights appearing around him, gathering in groups and floating towards him.

Eagerly, Galen leaned over to carry Vaughan, but struggled to run only a dozen steps before the two fell heavily to the ground. At this time, the ghostly green ghost had come close and surrounded Vaughan little by little. And Vaughan seemed to have lost consciousness, like Wallace who had just died, with a blank face and empty eyes. Galen knew that if he didn't go, he would have to follow in Vaughan's footsteps. Had to let go of Vaughan in tears, jumped up and started running forward desperately.

The truth revealed

With the help of locals, Galen returned to the United States with the remains of his brother and two friends for cremation and burial. The famous Discovery Channel heard about their experience, found Galen, and said it would investigate the Ghost Valley of Mexico. Soon after, the group arrived in Palenque. When they were about to enter Ghost Valley, Kipling, the scientific advisor accompanying the team, stopped the crowd and took out five gas masks from the backpack they were carrying for everyone to put on. Everyone took the masks obediently, only Ives pushed the professor's hand away as if he had been insulted greatly. Kipling had no choice but to put the mask back into the backpack.

I don't know if the exorcism spell Ives chanted worked, and several people came to the creek smoothly. The director and cameraman were busy filming a pile of bones, while Kipling took out some bottles and jars and started collecting soil samples.

The cameraman suddenly stared straight ahead and stammered: "You... ghost!" Everyone followed the sound, only to realize that at some point, there were clusters of swaying green lights around, and they were seen from all directions. Gradually converged to one place, and they slowly drifted over with the wind.

At this time, Ives stepped forward, stood in front of the crowd, took out the talisman he had drawn in advance, and began to do the magic with words in his mouth. However, his spell seemed to fail, and the green ghost rushed straight in front of Ives and surrounded him. Ives shook a few times and fell to the ground. At this time, Kipling rushed into the green light without fear. He first put a gas mask on Ives, and then injected an injection into his arm. After a while, Ives actually staggered to his feet, while Kipling was unharmed.

"What the hell is going on?" Galen asked in amazement. Kipling ignored him, took out a filter from his backpack, and collected a small cloud of green light. Then he said mysteriously, "When I get back to the laboratory, I'll unveil the ghost for you."

After returning to the United States, after two days of anxious waiting, Kipling's test results came out. It turned out that this ghost valley is an extremely rare concentrated distribution zone of yellow phosphate mines in the world, and the soil is very rich in yellow phosphorus. These phosphorus elements, which are toxic to humans and animals, can be absorbed by the roots of vegetation and can easily pollute the water sources in the canyon area. Kipling speculates that after Wallace and Olin entered the canyon, they may have accidentally drank stream water that seemed clear but contained extremely high concentrations of yellow phosphorus. The symptoms of phosphorus poisoning are dizziness and heavy feet, weakness in their legs, and inability to walk any longer. As for the large green light, it was not a ghost reappearance, but the phosphorus in the bones of dead people and animals volatilized into the air, and when it encountered water, it formed phosphine gas. These phosphorus molecules interacted with the surrounding warm and moist air and ignited slightly spontaneously. In the dim light state, they showed the green fluorescence they saw from Wallace's mouth.
