Fake Profile Review: Rollercoaster of Surprises, Thrilling Twists, and Plenty of Chaos!

Fake Profile Review: "Perfil Falso," created by Pablo Illanes, is a Spanish series that premiered on May 31, 2023, on Netflix. The show features Carolina Miranda in the lead role, along with Rodolfo Salas, Julián Cerati, Lincoln Palomeque, Mauricio Hénao, Felipe Londoño, Iván Amozurrutia, and more. Federico Castillo, Silvia Durán, Cristina Echeverri, and Rodrigo Guerrero serve as the show's executive producers.

Comprising 10 episodes, each with a runtime of 35-45 minutes, the series is originally shot in Spanish but is available with English dubbing and subtitles.

I initially anticipated a simple tale of love and betrayal, but "Perfil Falso" was filled with unexpected twists and turns. The story revolves around Camilla, a girl who falls in love with a man through an online dating profile, only to discover that he has been deceiving her the whole time and has a wife and children. From there, chaos ensues as Camilla struggles to forgive and forget.

The show's premise and tone are designed to keep viewers in suspense while foreshadowing significant events. Surprises can occur at any moment, and the plot succeeds in keeping the audience guessing about what might happen next. After a few episodes, viewers will likely become fully invested in the story and start forming their theories.

However, only some twists are executed flawlessly. Some plot points are so outlandish that they confuse the audience more. Ironically, It becomes amusing when major revelations are made at critical moments, catching everyone off guard. Nevertheless, the plot remains entertaining throughout.

One drawback of the series is the need for more character development and substantial backstories. While flashbacks glimpse the characters' backgrounds and motivations, the full picture is only partially revealed. Additionally, some characters undergo abrupt personality changes that don't align with the main plot, leaving loose ends and inconsistencies.

Apart from the flawed script, the series is filled with explicit sexual scenes that can become overwhelming. These scenes often overshadow the main plot, making it feel shallow and superficial. Although it is clear that the series is primarily aimed at commercial purposes and lacks deep philosophical meaning, the amount of intimacy could have been toned down.

It is worth mentioning that the actors deliver solid performances, staying true to their characters and captivating the audience. They embody their roles effectively, and their attractive appearances add to the show's appeal, keeping viewers engaged until the end.

In conclusion, "Perfil Falso" offers a rollercoaster ride of surprises, thrilling twists, and plenty of chaos. It encompasses drama, action, and emotional sequences, making it highly entertaining. The presence of talented and alluring actors further enhances the series. While it contains major plot twists that will shock you, the excessive focus on steamy scenes may draw comparisons to the "365 Days" trilogy, albeit with a stronger overall plot.

Fubar is on Netflix watch it now.

Review on A very bland horror comedy...

"Fubar" (aka "Killer Weekend") was a movie that came into existence without my knowledge, and I happened to stumble upon it by random luck in 2019. And now that I've seen the movie, I can honestly say that the movie will equally silently and unnoticeably return into obscurity.

This movie was bland. Writers Ben Kent and Joel Wilenius attempted to come up with something that would mix horror and comedy, I suppose. But the finished result was one that was mediocre. I can't claim that I was particularly amused with what transpired on the screen and I definitely wasn't laughing. Nor was it enough in the horror lane to actually be interesting enough to watch.

However, I managed to endure "Fubar" to the end, hoping that the movie would pick up along the way and become better. But it just never did, so no thumbs up for director Ben Kent here.

The characters in the movie were bland and you didn't really care much about what happened to them, and that was a terrible blow to the movie, because there definitely was some potential to it.

The storyline of the movie wasn't particularly innovative or overwhelmingly interesting to me, so it only made for a mediocre watching. I sat through it to the end, but I will never watch the movie a second time.
