Eclipse

The Aetherwind was on its first flight since the refit. All the power was not taken directly from solar panneling on the balloon body, and it was so efficient it could also run on moonlight and starlight.

This flight was going to be amazing, but no one had taken account that there was going to be a total eclipse, which would mean no light and no power, and when it hit every display and console on The Aetherwind died.

There had been no plan for this, but The Aetherwind stayed in the sky motionless except for the whims of the wind.

"How long is is going to last?" someone asked.

"They don't usually las that long, just surprised that we don't have any backup batteries for times like this. We could charge them using the solar panels and then we would have backup power. We are going to be an hour late and we can't even send a message. I hope nobody thinks that we have gone down"

"The Eclipse looks like there is just a black hole in the sky"

"We will just wait, then we will be on our way and we can recommend that The Aetherwind has batteries fitted so this never happens again.
