"Dream Thief" A Nightcafe Creation By The Author

He was the one who had everything, so it seemed. Deemed a creative genius, he reaped the rewards in many spheres. A writer, a musician and a playwrite, everything he touched seemed to turn to gold.

He continually amazed the public with his output, and he never seemed to put a foot wrong.

Most people shone in one particular area, as a writer, a musician, an actor or an athlete, and although all his specialties originated from his pen, he was stellar wherever he shone.

Often prople would think that they had had some wimilar idea, but could never put it together, and were amazed when they saw something they believed was a fragment of their dreams, moulded into amazing shapes by this genius.

He did socialise, but often lived a hermit like existence. This was because he nneded to be alone. He could let himself fall into a dream state and when there he could see glittering paths that he had found led him to other people's dreams.

At forst he thought is was just a dream in itself, but he could see ideas and words forming, and stories growing. He realised that these were things that he could use in his waking life and he used a couple of ideas to write short stories and songs, both of which were picked up and sold, making him a tidy sum of coffee money.

He knew what he saw had come from the minds and imaginations of others, an dif they were to use them, then problems might occur. When he found useful ideas and information, he dropped doubt and worry bombs in the dreams he was thieving from, so that his creations would always seem original, and not plagiarised as they were. He was a true dream thief.

He wondered if there were any others like him. When he wandered into others dreams it was as though they were sleeping. He did not feel that he was noticed or seen.

While he was non a hundred per cent comfortable with what he was doing, he did not feel he was stealing anything real. While he could maybe make someone walk out of a job or relationship if it would benefit him, he had not yet come across that scenario yet, but pondered what he would do if the situation occurred.

His dream walks were always very fruitful, giving him much to work with.

When interviewd he would be asked how he came up with such amazing ideas, he could not let his secret out (although it was unlikely he would be believed) so he came up with some generic sentence like:

"I just observe the things I see in life and then let the stories weave themselves"

Each time he went on his dream walks he was always a little worried that he would meet another dream walker, and then what would he do? Would his secret be revealed? Although if they were like him, they too would want to keep their activities secret.

He also wondered if one day he would find nothing to steal, and then would have to think for himself, but he believed that dreams were infinite and would never let him down.

He was a dream thief and he loved his life.

Maybe one days someone would find him out, but until then he was fine with being a dream thief, it gave him a good life, and it did require hard work on his part, but he was happy with how things were as were the people who followed him and could not wait for his next release or publication.
