Disney World Dark Secrets

The most fascinating location on earth is also the most mystical. The majority of visitors to Disney World are unaware of the numerous activities that go on there, from the 30,000 guest rooms that would take 68 years to fill to its hidden underground tunnels that only a select few will ever see.

Welcome To Disneyland!

No matter how many times you visit the Disney theme parks, there will always be little details that you will discover for the first time. This is one of the best things about them. There is so much buried right in front of your eyes in a lot of the rides, attractions, and restaurants in the Walt Disney World theme parks.

A lot of these undiscovered treasures are among my personal favorites to mention and keep in mind. We'll thus discuss visiting Walt Disney World's theme parks and learning some well-kept secrets in this piece.

The Animal Kingdom at Disney

The main E-ticket draw at Dinoland USA is the thrill ride Dinosaur. On April 22, 1998, it made its debut alongside the park under the moniker "Countdown to Extinction." In May 2000, the coaster had a partial redesign and was given the new name, Dinosaur, to coincide with the movie Dinosaur.

Since it first opened, the research facility's allocated loading area has essentially not changed. If you've ever looked around, you may have noticed the names of some chemicals on a string of red, yellow, and white pipes. These chemical names are significant because they identify the primary ingredients in the condiments ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise that are used on the red pipe, yellow pipe, and white pipe, respectively.

These three pipes are Ketchup, Mustard, and Mayonnaise representations, according to senior Imagineer for Disney's Animal Kingdom Joe Rohde, but what do these condiments have to do with dinosaurs? From 1998 through 2008, McDonald's served as Dinosaur's and Dinoland USA's sole official sponsor. These chemical formulations are covertly hidden on the pipes by Imagineers as a complement to the attraction's sponsor at the time.

Disney's Hollywood Studios

The courtyard of the Chinese theatre, which is situated in the middle of the park, is well known to have authentic handprints of notable individuals. Did you know that there are other locations in Hollywood Studios where you may locate these handprints? You could spend a lot of time just looking through them all.

Beauty and the Beast is being performed live at the Theatre of the Stars on Sunset Boulevard, where there are also some handprints that are both hidden and not so hidden. A few of these handprints are scattered around the area around the theater's entrance, but why would Disney install them here when the Chinese theater's courtyard has plenty of space for more? The park held numerous handprint ceremonies while it was still known as Disney MGM Studios, however many of the concrete blocks were kept backstage and never utilized in front of the Chinese theatre.

When the theatre and Sunset Boulevard first opened in 1994, Imagineers used the additional handprint blocks here in front of the theatre, and hundreds of people pass right over them every day without realizing they are stepping over pieces of Disney MGM Studios history.

The Be Our Guest restaurant

New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom,

Unquestionably, the Be Our Guest restaurant, which debuted in New Fantasyland, qualifies as a walkthrough attraction. The West Wing, which is menacing and dark, and the Ballroom, which is famous for being themed to the Beast's castle both inside and out, are two notable locations from the movie that Be Our Guest has faithfully recreated.

The theming is fantastic, and there are so many little details and unexpected surprises inside these spaces that are simple to miss. If you look up at the enormous chandeliers in the main ballroom, you may see cherubs floating in the air. The entire ceiling was hand-painted, and the cherubs are actually the Imagineers' or their children's faces as infants. If you look closely, you can realize how lifelike the faces are.

The ballroom's backset of windows offers a view of the castle outside, where snow is falling. Original Beauty and the Beast animation cells made up this animated snow. You'll find a pretty cool little hidden secret in the West Wing Dining Room, which is tucked away on the left side and complete with the red rose. Every time a rose petal falls, there will be a crack of thunder and a flash of lightning. The Prince's image changes into the Beast at this point, and if you're not looking for it, you'll probably miss it.

You can tell that there is a great deal of Beauty and the Beast magic hidden behind these stone walls, and if you can get a reservation for Be Our Guest, you won't want to miss it.

Magic Kingdom's Adventureland

There are many thrills in Adventureland, but have you ever walked across the park and seen the Jungle Cruise? Have you read anything about it? Perhaps you're contemplating it as you look through the Pirates of the Caribbean souvenirs. All of these items are a part of the interactive game "Pirates Adventure Treasures of the Seven Seas," if you have seen any of them.

This attraction is marked on the park map, but not many people know about it, and the fact that it's only open from midday to 6 pm doesn't help either. Nevertheless, it's a lot of fun for kids and adults alike! You receive one of these maps along with each of the five jobs, and it leads you all throughout Adventureland. Every time you play, you'll be able to activate a different station because each map is distinct. The biggest secret of the game is that if you complete one assignment within 15 to 20 minutes, you'll get a free quick pass to the Pirates of the Caribbean theme park.

What steps do you take to ask? A cast member will give you and the rest of your group a Pirates fast pass once you complete just two missions. If the ride has 30-minute or longer standby waits, this is extremely helpful. Spend your time searching Adventureland for buried treasure instead of standing in queue before utilizing your Fastpass to ride Pirates of the Caribbean.

You also get to keep the map and a collector card as a memento after finishing each job.

PizzeRizzo At Disney Restaurant

Within the Hollywood Studios property, on Grand Avenue, is the Pizzeria Rizzo. Italian New York pizza parlor with a Muppets motif is owned by Rizzo the Rat. There are many seating areas at this restaurant, but one in particular, located directly at the back of the establishment, seems a little odd.

You can enter the restaurant through these doors, across the balcony seating area, and up these stairs to find Rizzo's Deluxe Supreme Banquet Hall. It resembles a wedding reception space with few if any, guests in attendance. Fantastically, it seems like you've entered the 1980s! They play a variety of music, and the lighting occasionally becomes a little out of control.

It's the perfect location for your very own private dance party. This room was discovered by our friends at Paging Mr. Morrow, and since then, it has swiftly grown to be one of our favorite little-known attractions at Hollywood Studios. The restaurants then begin to serve food.

Due to recent seasonal changes, PizzeRizzo may or may not be open when you visit the park; nevertheless, if it is, make sure to go inside to experience this little-known treasure at Hollywood Studios.

Disney's Animal Kingdom's Pandora

Pandora Disney's Animal Kingdom is undeniably beautiful with its lush surroundings, floating mountains, and gushing waterfalls, but there's a little secret: one of these waterfalls is different from the other. The Imagineers used a spinning wheel that spins a little more slowly than real water to simulate falling water.

This gives the waterfall the appearance of being much farther away than it actually is. Everything appears to fit together flawlessly when we take another look at this broad perspective. You wouldn't notice it wasn't real water unless it was pointed out to you. It's a stunning little detail that is hidden and disguised right in the mountain range, and it's a great illustration of how the mind can be tricked by forced perspective.

Magic Kingdom's Frontierland

On Splash Mountain, you can have a Zip a Dee Do Dah day. One of the ride's highlights is the drop-down Chickapin Hill, and the dark ride show scenes use numerous audio-animatronics. In total, 68 animatronics bring the Br'er rabbit's environment to life as he searches for his happy place.

One of those journeys where there is so much to see along the way that subtleties are simple to miss. As you enter the laughing place scenario, you will notice a lot of animatronics along the right side, but look up to see this gopher on the ceiling. Yes, this man is a little cloaked, but the key is in what he has to say. The initials of Florida State University, FSU, are truly being shouted by this gopher.

It might sound like a sneeze or an inexplicable high-pitched noise. I'd like to provide one video as an example. You can clearly hear this audio playing. They say "FSU" in these bunnies.

One of the creators of Splash Mountain went to FSU, thus this was their way of honoring their alma mater. When that audio is playing, you can only hear FSU if you're in the front row and directly beneath the gopher. He'll have spoken it by the time you pass beneath him if you are in rows 2-4, thus you won't hear it.

Once you realize what he's saying, it's a nice little tip to remember for the next time you ride Splash Mountain. What is your favorite Disneyland secret to wrap things up? Tell me in my email.
