Cockiness and it's evocative nature

Words and pictures can be so deliciously tantalizing

Hello, you may want to reset your password for this one. This story is not for prudes or the morally judgmental (I can be a bit of both sometimes). Our very naughty Charles of Unsplash is clearly none of the above. His use of the plant and measuring ruler stick thing(y), I found profoundly metaphorically hilarious.

So let us find some more ridiculously hilarious pics and words to brighten our day, to reset our password clocks of fun, and bring levity to whomever chooses to read this very naughtily wayward story.

A Cocker Spaniel

By Anjuli Anjuli on Unsplash

This really cute fuzzy fellow may or may not be a Spaniel, but as he/she, or neutral gender's best friend as the saying goes, (I don't know what to say so as not to offend anyone, so I hope this works) he would surely brighten my day and certainly reset my fun with furry friends password.

The Cockscomb flower

Isn't this the most delightful picture of an innocent and beautiful flower, named I'm sure for the feature on the face of a real-life feathery Cock:

By Afra Ramió on Unsplash

Rather handsome Chicken.....er... Cock Chicken! This makes me blush. Without this rather handsome fellow, where would our Fast Food Frenzy for fried food be. He for sure provides the very first ingredient that begins our journey to rather delicious fried chicken.

Cock-a-doodle-do! and Poetry

1. Cock a doodle doo!

My dame has lost her shoe,

My master's lost his fiddling stick

And knows not what to do.

2. Cock a doodle doo!

What is my dame to do?

Till master's found his fiddling stick,

She'll dance without her shoe.

3. Cock a doodle doo!

My dame has found her shoe,

And master's found his fiddling stick,

Sing cock a doodle do!

4. Cock a doodle doo!

My dame will dance with you,

While master fiddles his fiddling stick,

And knows not what to do.

WOW! Metaphors abound here about fiddling sticks and shoes and such! So glad and happy that master's fiddling stick is up to the task. Dame can dance on again. What a very errantly naughty poem.

The Cockatoo

By Loretta Rosa on Unsplash

Innocence itself personified in colors of purity. The poor bird has no idea that whoever had chosen to name him this unfortunate sobriquet, had not the foggiest inclination that a naughty intention had been attached. I hope this is a picture of a Cockatoo, darned if I am sure, but it will do.

Cockspur Island

The founder of Methodism, John Wesley landed at the island on February 6, 1736, and a monument marks the spot where Wesley conducted a service of thanksgiving. During the American Civil War, the Battle of Fort Pulaski was fought on the island, in which the United States Army captured the fort from the Confederate States Army on April 11, 1862. Confederate soldiers were imprisoned in the fort. During the Spanish–American War, a coastal artillery battery, Battery Hambright, was built on the island; it was reactivated during World War I and World War II.

I shall only say, WELL, men and phallic symbols, however unintentional. They did offer prayers of thanksgiving.

Let us pause here to remember the cost of wars past fought, and the benefits and consequences of the sacrifices of those gone before us.

What Were the Top 4 Causes of the Civil War?

Pressing Issues That Led to the Civil War. The Civil War erupted from a variety of long-standing tensions and disagreements about American life and politics. ...

Slavery in the Economy and Society ...

States and Federal Rights ...

Pro-slavery States and Free States ...

The Abolitionist Movement ...

History brings with it a myriad of reasons for periodically resetting our collective passwords. It is critical that we pause from time to time to remember who we are and how far we have come.

Coxwain

Oh boy!

By Matthew Fournier on Unsplash

The coxswain is the person in charge of a boat, particularly its navigation and steering. The etymology of the word gives a literal meaning of "boat servant" since it comes from cock, referring to the cockboat, a type of ship's boat, and swain, an Old English term derived from the Old Norse sveinn meaning boy or servant. When the term "cockboat" became obsolete, the title of coxswain as the person in charge of a ship's boat remained.

Enough said about that!

Cockapoo

This cute bundle is a cross breed between a Cocker Spaniel and a poodle. Does he not seem cocksure of himself.

Other words and meanings

Cockade

A rosette or knot of ribbons worn in a hat as a badge of office, or as part of a livery.

Cockalorum

A self-important man.

Cockamamie

Ridiculous or implausible.

Cockamamy

Same meaning as Cockamamie.

The Cock and Bull story

Cock And Bull Meaning: This idiom is believed to have come from the days of stagecoaches, when people would travel on these stagecoaches between London and Birmingham, they would gossip and share rumors. True or false no one could rightly tell. What is the relationship of the cock story to the bull story....That is left completely up to the discretion of the reader.

I never saw this film, but I will sure try to find it somewhere. Seems very interesting.

Then there are those healthy teasers ending with the word cock:

Acock, Bibcock, Blackcock, Billycock, Gamecock, Gorcock, Haycock, Moorcock, Peacock, Petcock, Recock, Princock, Poppycock, Seacock, Shuttlecock, Stopcock, Uncock, Weathercock and Woodcock.

Phew!

This cockamamie story has plumb tuckered me out!

As if we needed more stories about all things Cockalorum.

Reset your passwords one and all.

@2023 awaits.
