Bored

Jessica just put down a book, she thought would peak her interest to read. The first page did not captivate her at all. It was about a lawyer who prevented justice in child custody by lying and omitting the truth.

She decided to go into the kitchen and find something to snack on. She looked in the fridge. The fridge had only eggs, orange juice, and bread. It did not give her any craving to look at the items. She got a pot from the cabinet and filled it with water from the sink. Place it on the stove. Place two eggs in the pot of water and turn on the stove.

She went to the living room and searched for the remote. She turned on the TV. She just switched Channels searching for something to watch. There was nothing on that interested her. She turned off the TV after a few seconds of searching.

She looked at the pot of eggs with water. It was not boiling yet. She thought how slow the time was going. She felt seconds were like minutes.

She went to the bathroom trying to poop but nothing would come out. She looked at her ray of magazines but none interested her. She got up from the bathroom throne and pulled her garment up. Walk to the bathroom sink and wash her hands with soap and water. Dry her hands with the nearby hand towel. She was in the bathroom for a few seconds but it felt like eternity.

She went back to the kitchen. The eggs were still not boiling. What is taking it so long? She thought to herself. She checked the stove knob to see if it was high enough. She played around with it and just put it on high.

Jessica's phone rang, She went to her bedroom and answered it but it was just a soliciting call. She hung up after listening to the caller for a few seconds. Why did she answer her phone when she knew it was a spam caller? Boredom had you do anything you do not usually do. She looked at the bedroom wall clock.

" Are you kidding me? the minute has not passed yet!!!" Jessica was getting upset at how slow the time was going.

"This got to be the longest minute in history. The eggs are still not boiling. Maybe I should have put hot water in the pot? Watching TV did not interest me. I went to the library to borrow that worthless book, yesterday. My Constipation is killing me. Maybe, I should double the dose of my medicine and it might work."

Popping medicine into her mouth, hoping they are effective in curing or managing her illness. Jessica had done several things in seconds that made up a good minute. Passing boredom is certainly not an easy thing. Time seem to go in slow motion. The opposite of boredom is doing activities that you enjoy and time passes quickly when you are having fun.
