' Monster!" Milly screamed, waking up from a spine-chilling nightmare. Yet Milly wasn't in her bedroom. She was in another bedroom not her own. How did she get here she wondered? She got out bed and glanced around the room. the room was dark, yet a small flame was lit above a candle set on a dresser. Milly picked up the candle and walked around the room. She was alone or so she thought until she heard loud footsteps coming up a staircase. The footsteps sounded much louder than her brothers and father. Milly placed the candle back on the dresser then she hide underneath the bed, hearing the door to the room being opened.

Whoever it was let out a yawn then wandered over to the bed, laying down. As it laid on the bed the mattress shook. Milly could hardly move laying underneath. Milly soon heard snoring then she squeezed out, grabbed the candle and continued to search the house too afraid to check and see who was laying in the bed in case the light would wake them from sleep.

The house was enormous. Milly had walked through several rooms only to find several more. Like in the bedroom everything inside the house was large. Whoever lived here must be large in size Milly assumed. Milly's stomach growled like a dog, so she found her way into the kitchen. She found bread placed on what appeared to be a dinner table, so she climbed on top of a wooden chair and then climbed on the table, grabbing some bread. The bread was delicious. It made Milly's mouth water, devouring more and more.

After eating all the yummy slices of bread, Milly grew thirsty. She climbed on top of the counter and found a glass to fill with water. Yet the glass was so large it was too heavy for Milly to hold on too. She dropped the glass after tapping a sip and it smashed on the floor, alerting the owner of the house. Milly leaped off the counter, carefully stepping over the broken pieces of glass and hide in the cubbard. Soon the giant appeared, holding a lantern, giving away his appearance. The giant had to be four times as big as any human Milly ever laid her eyes on. Her eyes probably grew twice in size, glancing at the giant up and down.

The giant walked over and looked at the mess on the floor. He muttered some voices then cleaned up the mess. Although Milly was scared she felt bad about breaking his stuff, so she grew some courage and approached the giant.

" It was me. I broke the glass and ate some of your delicious bread. I'm so sorry, but I don't know how I got inside your house. All I want is to go home, but I'm not sure how too," Milly said, tears forming in her eyes.

The giant turned to face her. He got on his knees and glanced at the girl. He didn't say anything, considering he probably doesn't know English. Yet he did smile at her. The giant picked up Milly and brought her back to his bedroom. He placed the girl in the bed then left the room. Milly fell asleep. When she woke up she was back in her own bedroom. She tried to fall asleep and return to the giants house, yet couldn't. Eventually she grew up, got married and had two sons. She always told them a story about the time she met a giant. Although her sons giggled and laughed they didn't realize their mom's old tale was true. After story time was over Milly would kiss her boys to sleep and blow out the small candle set beside their bed on their dresser.
