Claire was an eighteen year old freshman at UCLA. Her scholarship that she had applied for and been awarded was denied a week before she was supposed to take her first classes. What would she do now?
Claire's father died from cancer about a year ago and he had let his life insurance policy lapse due to the family's financial struggles. Her mother had to work two jobs to support the family.
Claire had worked as a waitress at a local Italian restaurant and made decent money in tips; however, it was not near enough to pay her tuition, books, room and board, and food at UCLA.
Now she receives a letter stating that Bold Scholarship had made a computer glitch and she should not have been chosen for this scholarship. What options does she have?
Claire had a best friend who was a mathematical and computer genius. He had written an algorithm to hack into the ATM and transfer money from one person's account into another without leaving any digital traces. He knew Claire's situation and was willing to do anything to help her. He went to his computer and boom! A transfer of $1,000,000 went into Claire's account.
