In ancient times, there lived a princess named Dayang Sumbi in West Java. He has a son named Sangkuriang. This child likes to hunt in the forest very much. He always takes his dog Tumang with him when he goes hunting. Tumang was actually a god incarnate and Sangkuriang's biological father, but Sangkuriang knew nothing about it and his mother kept it a secret. One day, Sangkuriang went hunting in the forest as usual. When Sangkuriang arrived in the forest, he went in search of prey. Sangkuriang saw a bird perched on a branch, and without thinking he immediately shot the bird and hit the mark. Sangkuriang then ordered Tuman to hunt prey first, but Tumang said nothing and refused to obey Sangkuriang's orders. Sangkuriang was furious with Tuman and kicked him out and was not even allowed to go home with him. When she got home, Sangkuriang told her mother about the incident. Dayang Sumbi was very angry when he heard about this from his son. He hit Sangkuriang on the head with a rice scoop. Frustrated by his mother's treatment, Sangkuriang decided to travel and left home.

After this incident, Dayang Sumbi deeply regretted his actions. He prayed every day and hoped that one day he would see his son. Thanks to her heartfelt prayers to her Dayang Sumbi, God granted her her eternal beauty and youth.

After wandering Sangkuriang for years, he finally wants to return to her hometown. When he got there, he was very surprised because his hometown had changed completely. Sangkuriang's joy was heightened when he met none other than Dayang Sumbi, a very beautiful woman. Sangkuriang was captivated by this woman's beauty and immediately proposed to her. In the end, Sangkuriang's proposal was accepted by Dayang Sumbi and the two agreed to get married in the near future.

One day Sangkuriang asked his future wife for permission to hunt in Hutan. Before leaving, he asked Dayang Sumbi to fasten and trim his headband. How surprised Dayang Sumbi found scratches while cleaning Sangkuriang's headband. This scar is similar to my son's scar. When Dayang Sumbi asked Sangkuriang what caused her wounds, Sangkuriang was even more surprised because her future husband was actually her son.

Ms. Dayang Sumbi was very upset because she could not marry her own child. After Sangkuriang returned from hunting, Dayang Sumbi tried to convince Sangkuriang to cancel her wedding plans. Dayang Sumbi's request was not granted by Sangkuriang and was seen only as a tailwind. Every day, Dayang Sumbi thought of ways to stop the marriage. After much deliberation, Dayang Sumbi finally found the best way. He gave Sangkuriang two conditions. If Sangkuriang meets both conditions, Dayang Sumbi becomes Sangkuriang's wife, otherwise the marriage is void. The first premise was that Dayang Sumbi wanted to dam the Citarum River. A second option is to have Sangkuriang build a very large canoe to cross the river. The second condition must be resolved by dawn.

Sangkuriang agreed to Dayang Sumbi's two demands and promised to fulfill them by dawn. Sangkuriang used his supernatural powers to mobilize Ghost and his Nation friends to complete the mission. Dayang Sumbi secretly kept an eye on Sangkuriang's work. How surprised he was because before dawn Sangkuriang met almost all the conditions for Dayang Sumbi.

Dayang Sumbi then asked the local community to help spread the red silk scarves to the east of the city. When Mr. Sangkuriang saw the east side of the city dyed red, he thought it was morning. Sangkuriang felt unable to meet Dayang Sumbi's demands and immediately quit his job.

Frustrated and disappointed, Sangkuriang breaches the dam he built. When the dam burst, a flood occurred and the entire city was submerged. Sangkuriang also kicked the big canoe he built. The canoe floated, lay face down, and became a mountain called Tangkuban Perahu.
