It was a beautiful yet tragic day.

One year since Mel last stood on this launch, ready for their planned sail around the world. But her husband didn't show.

Mel felt a tear stain her cheek as a comforting arm draped across her shoulder. Her lifelong friend Jane had accompanied her and would help negotiate the sale of the boat.

Gazing over the calm ocean waves, Mel wondered aloud if Brian would ever return.

She felt a cold chill run down her spine as Jane softly kissed her neck and whispered, “don’t worry, I tied the anchor tight.”
