Sheldon closed his office door and walked off into the night. The fire began shortly after he left. Screaming fire engines and police cars arrived shortly thereafter as he sat and thought about the million dollar insurance policy he had purchased eight months ago.

Arriving back at the building, he stood there in feigned shock, mouth agape and tears welling in his eyes as he watched the building burn for more than an hour. Chief Williams approached him and with his head hanging slightly downward, remarked “it looks like it will be a total loss”.

Sheldon wrung his hands and stared at the Chief. “I can’t believe this is happening. I built this business from the ground up and now it’s in flames”.

“There is nothing you can do tonight. You should go home”, the Chief said as he touched Sheldon’s shoulder. “We’ll start the investigation tomorrow as to how this started”. Sheldon nodded his head and walked away, grinning as he went into the darkness.

Picking up a small torch and looking at it, the fire marshall determined that the fire started in Sheldon’s office in the trash. Sheldon was under arrest. Shortest anticipated heist in history.
