A Magical Journey: Beats
Part 2 of a Microfiction Fantasy Series
The first hint that something was very, very wrong was the sky, shimmering purple and green.
The second hint was the ethereal music coming from no discernable source, with a rhythm just out of sync enough that one could never quite determine the beat.
The third hint was the brightly-colored... thing with entirely too many eyes, bouncing over the landscape. All three reluctant companions followed its progress with wide eyes and gaping mouths.
One twin shrugged guiltily. "OK, so we probably shouldn't have poked the object. What now?"
It was the third's turn to glare. "A way home. Or else."

Just had to poke the bear. And what if we cannot outrun it or home offers no sanctuary?
Great take on the challenge and an enjoyable microfiction
