Have you ever stopped to think this could be damaging Your Child???

You can say it’s really not that Bad, but let me tell you the truth when you defame the parent you defame the Child.

It’s as simple as that!

“Bad-mouthing” your ex in front of your child leaves a bad residue you could say, but on them.

Think of it this way, half of their DNA is made up of that “Bad” parent you are talking about. That so called idiot who ruined your life. That looser who you wish would fall off the planet.

Actually that Bad parent who is a looser and an idiot is actually 1/2 of your child.

So if you put that into perspective of how your child sees it they feel like 1/2 of themselves is bad, plus a looser and an idiot.

It’s the reality of how children feel when you talk bad about your ex.

Separation is hard enough for children, so when bitter battles are put on top of this it’s a burden children really shouldn’t have to carry.

Your pain and frustration as a parent must be controlled especially the tongue. It can actually be your worst enemy.

Why do I know these things?

I’m a Child Advocate for Voice4Kids and I’ve been speaking on behalf of the children for over 20yrs.

My parents separated when I was 9 so I know what children face after separation and I know how much burden they carry. For 17yrs I struggled with the anger and frustration of it all.

Then in 2003 after writing books about it, I knew Children needed a VOICE.

My job is the educate separated parents with a better way, a more positive co-parenting plan that will help parents see everything from the child’s perspective.

Bad-mouthing never helps anyone.

The kids hate it and really you as the parent should know better.

My Advice is; if you need to air your dirty laundry, be wise where you do it. Make a time to see a counsellor who can actually listen to you and help guide you through your pain.

Your Bad-Mouthing is actually a reflection of the pain and anger you feel inside.

Let kids be kids.

Don’t put them in the middle.
