Each of us has a personal passion for this holiday. We know and feel something magical, for sure, when we think of Christmas. Everyone could tell many stories that happened in time, from this magical period, certain emotions being related to the smell, the cold or the immaculate white of the snow, the warmth of the houses and the love of those around.

For some of us, Christmas is a great holiday, one of joy, the Birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In our Christian culture, we celebrate a significant day on December 25, crowned by the meal ceremony of this day. We put selected dishes on the table, an occasion for partying, good cheer and joy. Especially for those of us who held the fast before this holiday, the Christmas meal is a great blessing.

For others, Christmas Day means the smell of the Christmas tree, elegantly lit and adorned, and the beautifully wrapped gifts, too, under the Christmas tree. The pleasure of enjoying these habits with your loved ones, with the smell of fir, cozonac or mulled wine with cinnamon, all this can mean Christmas.

A few days off when you enjoy relaxing. Going to an exotic country, yes, maybe for some of us this may be a Christmas option. You go with your boyfriend / girlfriend or maybe you are a nice band of young people, who want to try another way to spend this period, less traditional, why not!

For many of us, Christmas also means tradition. Christmas means a return to the birthplace, to the old people’s home in the country, to tradition and to the mysterious moments spent in childhood. The warmth of our homes and hearts, dear people around the table, with all the dishes chosen, for the holiday. What could be more perfect than that?

Christmas is also about GIVING and RECEIVING!

We give to our loved ones, we pack nicely and meticulously each gift “ready to put under the tree”. And what is most beautiful is the giving of smiles, affection and love between us. We give, we give to those around us! Lately, I have heard more and more people who, during this period, also give to those who are deprived of the hope of a gift. Each one gathers the ones from the house, which can be donated and sends them to the needy. I give gifts to poor or lonely children, elderly people in nursing homes or families with difficult situations. Each of us, if we think of making gifts, or at least one, for someone who lives with less hope, how much joy we would spread around…

Christmas is connection and love…

Christmas also means connection, communion, warm and unobtrusive glances eye to eye, soul to soul. What joy a story can tell us on Christmas morning, looking into the eyes of a loved one with a cup of hot tea in hand or a mulled wine! Mysterious, deep, moments of opening and connection, which remain deeply imprinted in the souls of each of us. I remember such a moment when, on the second day of Christmas, my mother made a hot chocolate and we looked into each other’s eyes for a long time… I lost myself in her blue crystalline eyes, how much love I felt… Thanks to him God for that!

For me, Christmas means magic!

From the carols I listen to all the time, to finding gifts for loved ones, packing with care and love, it’s all a story! I love to give cute wrapped gifts, just their simple construction makes me smile, thinking about the moment when the dear person will open the gift.

Why do I still love Christmas?

Because I am with my family and we enjoy the moment of the Birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Let’s eat cake with walnuts and raisins, drink a glass of mulled wine with cinnamon, sing carols around the Christmas tree full of golden lights. All these details make up a story… The Christmas story!

Do I still believe in Santa Claus? Do you still think so?

Have a magical Christmas story too!
