The five passengers on the missing Titanic submersible were amateur explorers and scientists who had been attempting to explore the sunken ship for over a year. They set off in a two-person submersible from Newfoundland on Sunday, June 16th, 2019, but lost contact with the surface just over 24 hours later.

The five crew members included Canadian entrepreneur and submersible pilot Rob McCallum, German biologist and submersible engineer Viktor Fritsche, American marine biologist Dr. Erica Forrest, French underwater photographer Pierre Moreau, and British deep-sea diver John Harper.

McCallum had been the driving force behind the expedition. His company Deep Submergence Technologies had developed the two-person submersible they were using to explore the Titanic and its surroundings, and he had personally funded much of the expedition.

Fritsche was a professor at the University of Berlin who had designed the submersible's propulsion system and other technical aspects. He had also volunteered his time for months to help prepare for the mission.

Forrest was an expert on deep-sea ecology who had been involved in several other Titanic-related expeditions.

Moreau was a professional photographer from Paris who had been hired to document the mission. He had previously photographed several other underwater projects around the world.

Harper was a veteran of deep-sea diving and exploration, and had single-handedly recovered many artifacts from the Titanic's wreckage over the years.

The five crew members were all presumed to have lost their lives when the submersible disappeared. The families of the missing crew members released a joint statement expressing their grief and thanking those who had helped in the search effort.

The underwater environment around the Titanic is hostile and unforgiving. The area is subject to strong currents, deep-water trenches, and near-freezing temperatures; all of which make it difficult to explore for any extended period of time.

The families of the missing crew members have expressed their gratitude for all who have helped search for the submersible. A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for a memorial to honor the crew's memory.

The families of the missing crew members have been comforted by the outpouring of support from around the world. The International Association of Deep Sea Explorers (IADSE) has organized a memorial service in honor of the five brave explorers and scientists. The event will be held at the Newfoundland headquarters of Rob McCallum's company, Deep Submergence Technologies.

Meanwhile , the search for the missing submersible continues.

Despite the heartbreaking tragedy, a sense of hope still lingers in the hearts of those who knew the five crew members. Aided by donations from charitable organizations and individuals, search teams have scoured every corner of the icy depths around the Titanic. Though there has yet to be any sign of the submersible, friends and family remain driven to find answers.

In an effort to keep the memories of the missing crew alive, a special memorial fund has been established in their honour. The aim of the fund is to help others explore the depths of the ocean in pursuit of knowledge and discovery, just as these five brave adventurers did.

In spite of the tragedy, the families of the missing crew members and their friends have not given up hope. From all over the world, donations have been pouring in to help fund search teams in the hopes of finding some answers as to what happened to their loved ones.

The International Association of Deep Sea Explorers (IADSE) is also doing its part by providing support for the families and organizing a memorial service in honor of the crew.

Though their fate remains a mystery, these five brave souls will forever be remembered for their courage and dedication to exploration.
